Best Buy has it back up on their site for $9.99 as well, Amazon is showing $9.99 again with a 1-4 week backlog on shipping, so Best Buy orders may get it to people quicker. Also for those wanting right away, check BB stores in your area via the website or app.

I am curious if this 40th Anniversary Final Cut box set will eventually go out of print and then perhaps only the final cut being offered later down the road. Still surprised this hit the $9.99 price point fairly quickly after it was released.

The restoration is fantastic. But after watching it again, this is a horrible wretched movie. Going on eBay.

Yep, $28 shipped to Australia, an absolute steal for the six-disc version of this one (which never got a release here).

Kind of amusing that the shipping cost more than the discs, but eh, still worth it

LOL! I get it. It's not a movie for everyone. If you want a horrible, wretched but incredibly well done movie, try Taxi Driver.

Default Amazon bait and switch I clicked on it

Look at this link https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Apoca...lu-ray/241662/ it states $9.99 for Apocalypse Now 4k

when I go to buy it it jumps to 18.80

It's not bait and switch, it's because they more than likely have an allotment at the $9.99 price and with it being a popular film, and at a steal of a deal price point, they sell out. Plus the latest offering on Amazon was showing a 1-4 weeks for delivery. Also the $18.80 price is not from Amazon, its from a secondary seller and it being a used copy. Best Buy originally had it at the $9.99 price point and then they sold out online, and then Amazon changed their price to match Best Buy. Both retailers sold out, but then offered it again earlier today at the $9.99 price. It isn't designed to be a permanent prince, it's for the Black Friday sales through Cyber Monday or while stock permits. Is there a chance Amazon will have it up tomorrow? It's possible, but its one of those "order it as fast as you can" type of releases.

But you can always buy from Best Buy.com or check your local Best Buy store for pick-up as they still have it at $9.99 as I type this:

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apocaly...?skuId=6356622

It's a shame that you don't know a good movie when you see one. You're probably used to seeing a bunch of CGI, special effects, and 3D gimmicks. Apocalypse Now had a good script, good acting and direction. Sorry, but Apocalypse Now is not a Marvel nor a DC comic book superhero movie.

I'm not 100% sure Canada ever got a release for this. The $66 one you see on Amazon.ca is not sold by Amazon. It's sold by Deal Beat and "fulfilled by Amazon."

There was a comment earlier in this thread about a line of dialogue that is supposedly incorrect - alternate line from Redux? used in the theatrical. Where is that post? I'd like to see if this "incorrect" line is something that was also on the prior Full Disclosure Edition releases or if it is something new with this 4K remastering...

It's in the Do-Lung Bridge scene when Willard gets off the boat. I can't remember specifically but it's something like "going to look around, see if I can get some fuel", the original theatrical line didn't mention the fuel.

Do you know if the Full Disclosure was like that as well? I haven't seen this film outside of that edition (have only skimmed the UHD) and hadn't seen it prior (skipped it until it was OAR on home video, though I'd seen parts of the DVD prior).

I was happy with the original blu ray, but decided to double dip on the 4K for $10 on Black Friday.

That's another detail I can't quite recall, but I'm pretty sure it was baked into the theatrical cut when they recut it from the Redux transfer. So it's on every release except the old theatrical-only DVD, and it's also the original line in the BD included with the 4K, but only on the restored theatrical mix audio track.
