but i just find it strange that people laugh when Alabama loses a game. yet i never see it or hear about it when another team loses a game. it's like Alabama is universally hated for some reason. and i'm just trying to figure out why. Alabama has won a decent amount of games. Michigan has won more games than any other team, yet i never hear about people hating them as much as they do Alabama (aside from Ohio State fans; but that's their main rival so it's to be expected).

Bro, calm down. You're reading far too much into this, and putting words in my mouth. There's no grand conspiracy of Bama haters.

Saban has never done anything personally to me, nor any other fan. It's merely that his personality... leaving something to be desired. On the bright side, I suspect a lot of his prickly personality is what makes him a legendary coach. Just because he rubs a lot of people the wrong way does NOT mean 95%+ of us wouldn't LOVE to have Saban coaching the school we root for.

If you want another reason why people hate Bama, you might be more satisfied by the answer - success. When any team wins too often fans tend to get tired of seeing that team winning year after year. This has happened with the Patriots, Lakers, Yankees, or any other team in sports people got tired of seeing win titles. People are always going to take pleasure when a dynasty falls on its face, if for no other reason than it happens so rarely. If it makes you feel better, fans are likely to turn on Dabo and Clemson if they win another national title or two in the near future.

Another reason for the hate, among non-SEC fans, seems to be the conference. There is a wide perception of pro-SEC bias among college football fans. I'm not saying that's necessarily true or not, just that it exists. I tend to lean towards it being badly overblown. The problem is the current 4 team playoff does tend to benefit the SEC, as when a 2nd team from one conference makes the 4 team field its usually an SEC team due to strength of schedule.

SEC bias preferential treatment? does Alabama, or Nick Saban, for that matter, control how they're treated in the polls or by the voters? it's like you're saying you don't like them for how others treat them.

and paying players? IF Alabama has ever paid players, do you think they'd be the only school that has. I know of one school that did, in fact, pay a player. and that player got the whole conversation on tape. he then turned that tape into the ncaa. know what happened? nothing! absolutely nothing! why? i have no idea.

hell, smu did the same thing. but they got caught and were given what was called "the death penalty".

so if Alabama has ever paid, or will ever pay, a player(s), they certainly would never be the first nor the last.

I have every reason to hate Nick Saban as a MSU fan. He lied to the school about leaving for LSU, He lied to the administrations faces about being in negotiations with LSU the day before he signed with LSU because he did not get a bonus that was coming to him in what he considered to be a timely manner.

This caused years of setback to the program when they hired JLS and Bobby Williams before they finally got Dantonio.

Alabama is in a unique situation because there is no professional team in or around Tuscaloosa. The fans are passionate yes but they also act like entitled asses.

Phyllis Perkins is a perfect example of what is wrong with that fanbase.

Alabama also does not play real teams most of the time, go back 10 years and look at Alabama schedules. How they get away with scheduling what they do and not playing more top 10-15 teams year after year baffles me. Part of it is a problem with the process of how NCAA scheduling goes and part of it is the fact is Alabama and they can do what they want under Saban.

I have no doubt Alabama will be back next year in the top spot because that's what the NCAA wants its all about money and those fans travel with money. Its the same reason the playoffs have not been expanded to 8-16 teams. The current system breeds controversy and thats what the NCAA wants.

Saban pulled similar shit with the Miami Dolphins, leaving a bad taste in NFL fans' mouths. He continually lied about his desire to take the Alabama job, right up until he left.

Though to be fair, the Dolphins really should have listened to Saban when he urged them to sign Brees over Culpepper. Brees to Miami would have completely changed the trajectory of the NFL.

regarding success, they only thing i have against it is when my team doesn't have it and another team does. but i don't hate another team or coach for having it. i just wish my team did.

yeah, phyllis from mulga is NOT the typical Alabama fan, in my opinion. at least she's no one i'd want to associated with. she's a loud-mouth idiot who does nothing but bring shame on herself and her family for the crap she says. the other Bama fans i know aren't that brash or hateful with their crap. and i always try to be respectful and congratulatory when another team wins. nobody's perfect all the time.

and i don't think we ALL act like entitled asses. at least i hope not all of us do. it would be a shame if we did.

Its because the college landscape is the way it is. NCAA already has the best tournament in history with March Madness so the NCAA knows what it needs to do in order to remove the controversy remove all the BS with the polls.

Alabama is a success yes but who have they played this year aside from LSU or Auburn. The answer is simple No One. Who did Alabama play last year to get to the championship ... No One. Alabama's only meaningful games last year were the Sugar Bowl and CFC ... Alabama faced No One in 2017 their only meaningful game aside from Peach and championship was against 10 Auburn which Alabama Lost. 2016 is an anomaly Alabama played a #3 ranked USC team early in the year and destroyed USC, Alabama faced a #10 ranked Auburn team and Lost, Alabama also faced Clemson in 2016 in the CFC and lost as well.

As you can see when Alabama actually faces tougher opponents and teams they lose but the way they do their scheduling 8 games out of the year are against a bunch of unranked nobodies unlike a team like LSU this year who has faced 5 opponents ranked in the top 10 and won them all.

But heres the thing if Bama played 3-5 top 10 teams in their schedule every year not including playoff aside from 2012-2014 where they were just dominant, do you think Bama is in that CFP every year? I dont, the fans as well as school touts this record but when you dont play a ranked team until your bowl game then it makes no sense for them to be in the position they are thats where the fatigue comes in.

Its like a Michigan fan talking about this winningest football program in NCAA history. They tout that record like no tomorrow, but in the past 15 years the program has been irrelevant. Their Recorded winds are from like 1940. WTF does that have to do with anything.

Patriots play good teams every year sometimes they are dominate and win sometimes they lose but its entertaining good football on both sides.

Yankees/Red Sox is more a market thing then anything but if I could I would go to everyone of those games because its a good strategic baseball game where every pitch counts.

Just going off what FSU is saying. Nothing until after this weekend. Leads me to believe that their hire is still coaching. He’s the only one still coaching. Unless they are hiring a CU assistant. Jeff Scott would be great down there. No one is scared of Bob Stoops. That’s why he retired/fired. Without BV he’s not the same guy. CU will suffer too without BV so I can’t really say anything about that.

BV wasn't that good at the end with OU. Didn't he get fired? That's how he ended up at CU right?

We could agree that Bob Stoops would be a major upgrade over Wille T.

OU won by 10 points that year so idk what you are talking about. That was a young team too those same players came back and whoop his ass at CU in 2013 so yeah. BV is a good Coordinator but doesn't automatically make him a good head coach. Anyway so why did he leave OU then?
