Ironically I ran into what I hope is my first 'bad' disc while putting my 9000 through its paces last night. I had created a bit of a backlog of movies to watch while I had given away my old 4K player and was waiting for the 9000 to come in and one of the first movies my eldest daughter and I had planned to watch was Hobbs and Shaw... but... the player wouldn't read it. I cleaned the disc and gave it several attempts and I just couldn't get it to work. We moved on to Spider-Man - Far From Home and no troubles there, it looked amazing. Going to try Hobbs and Shaw in my old LG at my folks place today and I'm kind of hoping it fails there too, then I'll take it back to the store this weekend.

This is weird... earlier I reported that I had no issues with Black Hawk Down 4K Extended cut/Atmos except one audio wobble during end titles with my 820.
Now when I sampled it again, I had freezes and audio drop outs for a few secs! And repeatable as well, always the same places. After a hard reset ("08 FIN") and setup again, the freezes/audio drop outs are gone... Fingers crossed that they stay gone. |

1. Turn the unit OFF. 2. Press and hold [OK], the [Yellow] button and the [Blue] button on the remote control at the *same time* for more than 5 seconds. “00 RET” is displayed on the unit’s display. 3. Press [►] right repeatedly on the remote control until “08 FIN” is displayed on the unit’s display. 4. Press and hold [OK] for more than 5 seconds Last edited by rickardl; 11-29-2019 at 07:26 AM. Anyone else have any issues with the Hobbs and Shaw Canadian 4K release? Just got back with my second disc and after taking a minute or so saying Reading on the front display it just goes to No Read. Last edited by roar; 11-29-2019 at 12:45 AM. |

Picked up a 820 to use with LG G6.
I had several issues. Would not see my files on hard drive via USB. Froze on disc play back for several seconds before resuming. I also had one minor hand shake issue with a 3D disc. And the optimizer would not activate while playing Dolby Vision disc. (?) I turned off DV and was able to activate optimizer, but it appeared to do nothing to image. I could not see any change in quality whatsoever. Positives- The image overall was a tad brighter and a slight bit punchier than my Oppo203. Not by much. I was able to play most of my region 2 Blu-ray’s by using the top menu trick. My Oppo plays them all with mod. That said, I see very little reason to replace my Oppo 203 at this time. Panasonic players are useless crap when it comes to playing files. That's all.

On the 820 when looking at MKV files on a USB drive, the first visible file will start with ._ followed by the file name. These files are not playable. They are also not visible when looking at the contents of the drive on my Mac, even when using the reveal hidden files feature. The actual, and playable files, will be listed next. Is there any way to hide the ._ files? When you have a drive with several MKV's the ._ files can be an annoyance. Thanks a million.

And thanks for the info on the Sony. I was wondering that and had posted on the thread on avsforum asking this, and no one had the decency to bother responding. |

Robert you might want to follow the AVS JVC RS9000/NX9 thread a bit starting with this post.
https://www.avsforum.com/forum/24-di...l#post58889118 It concerns some titles Like BBC 4K Planet Earth for example where the 420/820/9000 doesn't see the metadata using the HDR optimizer and so in usage the player doesn't flag content as HDR only SDR with his projector. Quote:

![]() Yet, I have zero problems with my 160GB hard disk, despite both being formatted to NTFS with the same PC I just filed this away as a mystery, and just decided to use the 160GB drive with the 820. |

Silly question but which USB port are you using? The one on the back has more power than the one on the front. The 820 won't even recognise my 1TB portable drive if it's plugged into the front USB.
