Default Most Disappointing Movie

After the much-anticipated release of Watchman, it appears that many people fell victim to the hype surrounding the film and ended up let down.

Which other films were you so excited for, but ultimately disappointed upon its release?

For me it was Oliver Stone's Alexander. That movie cut an awesome trailer, and I'm a sucker for "sword and sandals" epics, but Alexander SUCKED. Huge let down for me.

Of all time... I am not sure. I know in recent years i was excited to see Jumper since the premise was cool. Alas, the movie was no where near what it could've been.

My most recent one (aside from Watchmen, where the director stayed remarkably faithful to the graphic novel for most of the film only to have it undermined by mostly forgettable acting and a horrid soundtrack) would have to be:

Quantum of Solace - Like Watchmen, it wasn't a terrible film. It just should have been better. I got over the different Bond style used in the film, but the plot was just kind of boring in that the villains were not very evil and their scheme was something Greenpeace, not James Bond would have been concerned about. I know James had the revenge thing going from CR, but I was underwhelmed and indifferent at best.

The only other one I had in recent memory was Indy 4.

I totally forgot about that one. I try to convince myself that it was never made and that i did not waste me life by watching it.

Yeah, I was totally disappointed by Indy 4 and to some degree, Quantum of Solace as well.

This is going to turn into "I hate the following movies"

For me: Indy 4 and Che, Part Two.

question regarding Che: are part one and two completely separate movies? i've noticed in theaters they are counted as 2 separate movies in the sense that you have to pay separately, but i assumed based on the name that they were part of the same, long movie?

I'm anticipating CHE to suck, but since I haven't seen it yet, I'll refrain from judging it. I have to give it the benefit of the doubt because I did really like The Motorcycle Diaries, even though that was about Guevara's youth as a doctor and was directed by a guy who is significantly less full of himself then Soderburgh.

I forgot... Sicko was pretty bad too. I thought it was going to be a typical Michael Moore comedy but it was pretty lame. I never expect his movies to be truthful which is why I view them as comedies, but this one was just cry, cry, cry, and none of the victims were any fun to laugh at...they were just boring. Usually Moore's naked attempts to manipulate emotions is so pathetic it's funny, but this time he did it with less effort. It's like he wasn't even trying to sell the lie, but just tells it and walks away.

I hope not. This thread should be about films that did not live up to your expectations for whatever reason. For instance, nobody is gonna list Meet the Spartans because no one actually had even mediocre expectations to begin with.

^^^It's all part of the same movie. They had to split it up because the running time is over four hours.

My biggest disappointment was going to the movies at 6:30 in the morning when they opened what was supposed to be epic. Drum roll please....................................

Matrix Revolutions.

But, I don't think that's what he meant.

My most disappointing movie was Kingdom of Heaven, it could've been epic. The scene where you first see the approaching Jerusalem army and the cross shines in the sunlight is a brief glimpse at what could have been. It's not a bad movie, but it could've been so much more.

After all the hype and good word I was hearing, I thought Benjamin Button was going to be good. But it wasn't.

QoS would be another. Just wasn't that great.
300. Besides the cool action scenes, the rest was forgettable
