Watched episode one last night and everything's there. Even preview of next week's show. Bumpers aren't there. Also noticed no commercial fade outs.
You can choose PLAY ALL or individual episodes but it's one file with only a total run time displayed not episode run time.

I am glad they were able to include everything!
I understand that if you are watching a whole heap of episodes, the intros/outros can get a little repetitive...but when you only have a few episodes on hand, I find they really help set the tone/mood and I am always grateful when they are included!

It's pretty cool Disney went with the TV version route instead of the theatrical version route this time around.

Quite right. The nostalgia factor is quite high for this viewer who saw the original airings in 1964.

The theatrical version pretty much leaves out the entire second episode...which included some really fantastic sequences. I took my wife to see it as part of a double feature with Treasure Island in the theater. Was extremely disappointed at the truncated version after telling her how great it was. Really appreciated getting the Treasures release.

Looking forward to getting this along with 20,000 Leagues and In Search of Castaways.

Hope they'll put out Kidnapped, Fighting Prince of Donegal, Rob Roy, Robin Hood, Prince and Pauper, and other classic adventures.

One I really liked that I've never seen on any format including VHS is The Legend of Young Dick Turpin. Have to settle for fond memories and the Gold Key comic for now.

Would also like to see Andy Burnett and the complete runs of Swamp Fox, Nine Lives of Elfego Baca, and Texas John Slaughter.

If you can snag the three issues of the Gold Key comic, they are pretty snazzy. All three have great painted covers (and I think all three have the paintings reproduced as "pin-ups" on back cover without text). Some really nice publicity photos on inside covers. Interior art by the always-reliable Dan Spiegle, who did many TV and movie adaptations for Dell and Gold Key and was great at capturing actors's likenesses and details from any time period.

The first issue adapts the entire 3-episode run, while the final two issues feature original stories that stay true to Disney's version.

The Dr. Syn book series by Russell Horndyke that inspired the Disney version are highly a sought after and feature a far darker protagonist who is as much villain as hero. Walt did a great job of taking the character and remaking him as a Zorro-type figure helping the common folk fight tyrannical rule. The costumes for Scarecrow, Hellspite, and Curlew are fantastic, McGoohan is perfectly cast and ably-assisted, the nighttime marsh sets are suitably creepy, and the writers even incorporate a Batman vibe with the sexton Mipps (AKA Hellspite) channeling Alfred in a comic way and teenager John (Curlew) filling in for Robin.

Always thought this would have made a great series a la Zorro and could still be the basis for a good series today with the right cast and production team.

Thank you for introducing that factoid into this thread. Spiegle was always one of my favorite comic artists (and sometimes writer), and his work on the three SCARECROW mags is very good indeed.

I own all of the original Thorndyke books, and I would suggest that Dr. Syn is one of the first literary "anti-heroes", a character type very much in vogue these days. What's fun is that the series makes a full circle; the first book written is chronologically the last in the series.

Syn's strange personal moral code really morphs in the books, and I was compelled to read them in the order of 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-1(again) to get the full impact of the character arc.

The TV series is based more on a rewrite by William Buchanan called CHRISTOPHER SYN, which is even harder to come by than any of the original Thorndyke volumes. Buchanan's treatment comes up with a different way of ending Syn's career and is quite satisfying.

But it's good to remember, the Dr. Syn of the books is a fictional character, whereas Disney's SCARECROW OF ROMNEY MARSH was a real person!

I'm currently looking to buy the Dr. Syn Treasures set and a few others (for a reasonable price, not for any of the jacked-up prices they're going for on eBay and Amazon) through my father's PayPal. Send me a PM if you're interested in selling your copies of the sets I mentioned in my signature!

For a “reasonable price”, you’re going to have to order them yourself: [Official] Disney Movie Club Thread - 9 Blu's for $89.70 (Possibly Less)

I think you misread the 'Want' request. It sounds like he wants the old DVD Treasures (assuming to complete the collection), not the new Bluray.

I want to get SCARECROW and 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. Can I order these as part of my initial order, as two of the bonus movies, or will i have to wait and order them later?

20000 Leagues is eligible for the initial order, Scarecrow wouldn't be until probably around 12/10.

Scarecrow could used as one of the 2 required commitments however.

If you are using an offer not including lifetime free shipping or more than 2 commitments required after picking the initial 6 or 7 PLEASE read the DMC Deals Thread Post 1 and 2 first. It sounds like you probably have, but it still amazes me how many people sign up with 5 required Full priced items and still paying shipping. I think there are currently 2 Optimal Active Promo codes for now.

I did indeed. Sorry about that. In my defense, I hadn’t yet had my morning coffee.

I looked it up; it's one of these two (both came out on December 11, 2007):
Lost: The Complete Third Season
High School Musical 2

I literally (not figuratively) just found out about this! I am a member of the Disney Movie Club and I searched it and there doesn't seem to be any mention of it. Is it already Sold-Out and Gone just like what Disney did with the DVD? I missed the DVD - it was available for about 6 weeks originally.

I found it... sigh. Both my wife and I searched the site a few times (I thought I was losing my noodles) and it wouldn't show-up at all in any of the searches. I found it in Recent Items... and then it showed-up using the search engine.

Even weirder, your link takes me to an Error Page.
