Surely this won't actually be a Best Buy exclusive? Maybe timed?

And this is Star Wars we are talking about. Exclusivity doesn't make sense. |

I broke down the cost and with my 60% the 5 remaining Pixar’s, two Beauty and the Beast and the remaining 8 Star Wars films would come out to $236 for 15 4k discs after selling the codes cost would be around $110. |

I can’t wait to see the disc breakdown.
Obviously it’ll be the nine movies on 4K and Blu-ray. But that still leaves nine more discs. Could it all be bonus material? That would be amazing! Especially if they actually ported over all previously released material (and new stuff!). I wonder if this will have any exclusive material (like how the 2011 set had the three exclusive discs). I’d prefer a more shelf-friendly minimalist package, but if this is the only way to get the movies on the format, you can be darn sure I’m gonna get it lol. |

After revisiting these on Dinsey+ I think I'll actually pass on this set. I just can't stomach the prequels and the alterations to the OT. I will be curious to read impressions of the OT transfers, though. Hopefully they get their own set some day, preferably with the original versions and better transfers. There was some pretty heavy-handed management on the streaming versions, especially Jedi IIRC.

This is a definite pass for me. I don't really care for The Force Awakens, absolutely despise The Last Jedi, and I don't think I'm going to care for The Rise of Skywalker either based on what I've already learned about it. I'm not much of a fan of the prequel trilogy either, but at least they were original, different, and somewhat entertaining.
The alterations on the original trilogy... the fact that George Lucas sat before Congress in the late 1980's, explaining why a film preservation was important, and that Ted Turner was colorizing black and white movies was a tragedy and disgrace to art, yet he's a complete hypocrite for doing the exact opposite of everything he supposedly stood for when it comes to the OT. Yes, they're his films, and he should have the right to make changes if he wants. But to suppress the original theatrical cuts like he has, that's the true tragedy of George Lucas. All he had to do was go the Ridley Scott route like he did with Blade Runner; give us multiple versions of the of the film, but don't suppress the original. With Blade Runner, we got that fantastic box set with all five cuts of the film, and I get to choose which one I want to watch. Till today, the National Film Registry does not have a copy of any of the Star Wars films in their vaults, because they requested the original theatrical cuts, which Lucas denied them. My feeling is one of the reasons Lucas sold to Disney, was because of the pressure of fans for the hate of the prequels. I personally believe had he given the fans a box set of the original trilogy theatrical cuts, properly restored, and full of archival material and original behind-the-scenes featurettes like From Star Wars to Jedi: The Making of a Saga, and all the material that appeared on the Definitive Laserdisc edition, this would have made fans happy, and enough to cut back on all the "George Lucas raped my childhood" toxic fandom. It's really funny how for all the hate the prequels gained, how quickly the tide has turned from hate to love for George amongst fans, and wishing he was back for the Disney trilogy. All that would make me happy is a 4K set of the OT theatrical cuts, but I know that's never going to happen. Thank goodness for the Harmy's Despecialized Editions. It's too bad that Disney and Lucas don't see the potential not only for the original fans, but for the proper preservation of those films. It's just sad that Lucas doesn't hold true to his word about what he said to Congress when it comes his own films, yet he sure held true to his word in 1995, when he said the original films will never be released ever again. |

I hope they release the movies separately so I won't have to buy a full set with movies I'm not interested in like the Prequel trilogy that by the way except for The Phantom Menace, the rest were shot on early digital cameras and digital video recorders that have subpar video quality by today's standards, despite upscaling and HDR.
I only want the Original Trilogy, The Force Awakens, Rogue One and The Rise Of Skywalker. I already own The Last Jedi (meh ![]() |

When I read 27 discs I figured everything Star Wars from 1977 to 2019 all in 4K Blu-ray including rogue one, solo, rebels tv show, clone wars show, resistance show and whatever else came out and is “canon” now. Not 9 movies in 3 different formats 🙄 What a waste of money and discs.
