News today that Viacom CBS have purchased a 49% stake in Miramax. Here's the interesting bit:

ViacomCBS’ Paramount Pictures gets an exclusive long-term deal for worldwide distribution rights to Miramax’s library of about 700 movies.

Might this now mean that Scream have access to Miramax titles via their arrangement with Paramount? Fingers crossed. Hopefully other labels can strike deals as well but certainly Shout would appear to be in the driving seat right now.

I would love to see the original director's cut of Cursed. There's been a lot of talk about it online over the past couple of years, so it seems like the awareness is there, as long as a distributor is willing to release it.

I ordered a copy of BLOOD AND LACE a while back on Amazon when it wasn’t currently in stock. I’d completely forgotten about it and just got notice that it shipped! For those interested, there’s one copy available at Amazon US right now.

Also, I’d love a director’s cut of BLACK XMAS. That film has mildly grown on me over the years, but I’d love to see a cut of the original intent before it got Harvey Scissor-Handed.

Eh, it's not unwatchable. I appreciate the well done gore, and it's fun to watch because of how stupid it is A bastardization of the original IMO, and while it is just my opinion I still don't understand how anyone can prefer the remake Anytime I watch it I always am wondering "Why is he yellow? What is his fascination in gouging out eyes? Why are there two of them? Why is a man cast in a woman's part? Who's choice was it to make them related?"..such an absurd movie but it has a sort of goofy charm to it

I like it also. In fact (unpopular opinion alert) I like it more than the original. There was a time I found the original Black Christmas incredibly boring. Over time ive warmed up to it a bit more but still prefer the 2006 version.

I am a big fan of '06 Black Christmas—not under any illusions that it's even near the brilliance of the original, but it is a relentlessly fun, gory popcorn movie. It is also brimming with Christmas atmosphere unlike anything I've seen; it's quite a beautiful film just on a mere visual level. I've been hoping for a new Blu-ray release that has both cuts of the film, and new special features. I have the Canadian Blu-ray which I nabbed on Amazon years ago for $20, but it only has the theatrical cut (which is fine, as I think it's a superior cut anyway, but still).

I thought the (first) remake was mildly better than the original but that both were still bad. I do love its Christmas atmosphere, though, and the cast is gorgeous.

Would love Black Xmas! Saw it in theaters on or around xmas '06 in a packed theater. Great time!

I like the remake better the original is soooo boring omg. Not digital enough. Not enough quick cuts.
