This does have all 9 films though, right? The Force Awakens isn't listed on the US page for it here.
It will, 3 different people created pages for TFA 4K, it's just nobody has edited one of them into the box set page yet.

Yes, but I wasn't planning to buy TRoS. I only wanted 7-8 (and maybe 4-6).

I’ve been lucky and never had issues with cardboard and Blu-Ray storage. However, The Simpsons DVD’s circa S7-12 are shocking. The glue failed on the cardboard digipaks and it is a difficult task to clean the glue off the DVD’s, without doing damage. They seem to play fine, but I haven’t checked out the whole disc.
With Blu-Rays “patented” coating for protection, it should assist with any unwanted damage or scratches from ordinary handling. I do believe that BD 1.0’s surface was so “scratch happy”, initially they had a cartridge style that had the disc contained inside, before they invented the scratch resistant formula.

I have only had 2 discs that have had flaws/visible marks that wouldn’t play 10-20 seconds properly, they would freeze or skip past the damaged portion.
I assume the damage occurred pre-coating (Raiders of The Lost Ark and Dexter Season 6 D1). For the latter, it wouldn’t play a part of the Well of Souls scene, so I took the disc back to the store, showed them the mark, and voila, they replaced it. With Dexter, I was not so lucky (lost receipt). Waited ‘til it was on sale and replaced the season...

Since then, I keep every receipt. Apart from some discs not playing properly due to dirt or fluff on the disc (If faulty play occurs, I pull the disc out, wipe the disc clean and it plays fine), I have not come across a faulty BD.

With the book style sleeves that will more than likely come with The Skywalker Saga, if crafted properly (Deadwood Digibok is a great example), then glue failure shouldn’t be an issue. At least one would hope that Disney won’t skimp on the cardboard design and it will be manufactured in such a way that cheap glue won’t be involved.

Quick route to sanity is to stop caring.
And that would be the problem, and I do understand that though. I'm just not a fan of it, just a small bit of preference of the appearance of the covers, which in the grand scheme of things doesn't matter much aside from at least looking nice on a shelf. I'll just take what I can get without the boxset. I got the Second Jurassic Park/World Boxset since it wasn't stacked discs or the slide out garbage.

I lost my sanity long ago though.

Also the cardboard not being 100% flat and deforming the disc. Is that possible?

Yeah has a distinct whiff of BS about it. Happy to be proven wrong though.

There was talk of an extended cut of TFA a couple of years back that never materialised on Blu-Ray (unlike Anakin in his mother’s womb )
And I am positive Disney couldn’t have used seamless branching, since I read that the chronology of the story was very different.

The 3 hour “Director’s” Cut of TFA had an additional storyline of Maz Kanata using the force to bring a roof down on some stormtroopers. Apparently, after Rey runs out of the room where she found the lightsaber, a lot more was supposed to happen i.e. Han and co. we’re trapped in the lower levels of Maz’s watering hole. Also, the scenes at the Jakkar marketplace were much longer (Fin supposedly met Rey before BB-8 saw Fin, accusing Fin of killing Poe).
One of the craziest things I heard about the original cut was that it began with Luke’s severed hand floating in space, still clutching the lightsaber (kinda glad that didn’t make the final cut, ‘cos you got to start with a ship for continuity). Rumour? Conjecture? Not sure about the latter, but the force wielding Maz and extra Jakkar scenes were widely reported.

Personally, I think it was a mistake to trim the f*ck out of TROS and have it become one of the shortest Skywalker saga films. And being that it isthe end of a saga, like LOTR-ROTK, it should have been the longest.
For mine, the first act felt rushed and even the final battle in the third act felt rushed.

While I would love to see an extended cut too on BD, I’m sure all we will get is some deleted scenes.

Not the worst thing about the movie by any means but each time I've seen TROS it felt longer than its run time.

To be fair The Battle of the Five Armies is the shortest Hobbit movie and that works fine (in extended form).

JJ said in the TFA commentary that one of their ideas was indeed to start with the lightsaber tumbling through space, sans hand, but it was never actually shot.

Can someone explain to me the desert scene?
[Show spoiler]
It says Luke and Lando went there tracking the guy that was trying to take Rey to Palpatine, they met up with him? Didnt? Found his ship? Didnt? Then they just randomly gave up and went their separate ways with Luke going to the planet Achoo and Lando to who ever knowa where.

I don't think it was explained properly.
Plus the timeline of it...

I know, but 'shot' is so much more succinct rather than writing 'but it was never actually created in a computer'. And now I've written it anyway. *le sigh*

Luke and Lando found Ochi's ship but it was a dead end-- no Ochi, no Wayfinder, no Sith Dagger,
[Show spoiler]because Ochi had died below the Sinking Fields, leaving the Sith Dagger behind next to his corpse.

[Show spoiler]Some time after ROTJ Luke set out to find Jedi artefacts and locations throughout the galaxy. During this time he leaned about Exegol, a mythological Sith planet. He tried to find it, with Lando’s help, but for some reason or another that’s never explained the search came to nothing. Possibly because it was only a legend and the clues were scarce, and he wanted to focus on other stuff that was maybe more within reach.

I hope we get an official announcement soon. Whether there will be individual releases will most likely determine if I will be picking these up (Except Episode 8) day 1.

Digital Bits was reporting earlier this week that it seems individual 4K releases won't be coming until later in the year.

That’s unfortunate. Guess I’ll hold off until then. At least I’ll be getting Episode 9 4K.
