Isn't the OAR 2.40:1?

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say 95% of the people whining about the changed aspect ratio wouldn't even of noticed if they just watched the movie and only whine because others are jeez this can be had for like 12 bucks is it worth it flaws and all, yes.

i agree. its a great show regardless. wrong aspect ratio isnt the end of the world. its like listening to dark side of the moon on an ipod. yeah it sucks a bit, but itll do in a pinch...

I've always been picky on OAR but I bet your right about most people not noticing. I would be willing to bet that these are the same people who are complaining about 1080i and wouldn't notice the difference. My TV is only 1080i so I don't care about that.

I popped it in yesterday to take a looksy. its not that bad, I would say its average in PQ. Not the greatest obviously, it was in 1080i. Looks a lot better then the dvd, thats for sure, I watch this movie at least once a year, so I guess im gonna stick with this for now until another release comes out.

Default Seven released last week???

I see Seven was released last week. Is that a US release? Did anyone pick that up. I saw the Euro release and it got a decent review.

It's supposed to be 1080i, but I have a 720p tv, so it shouldn't make to much a difference when I buy it

Please don't support Alliance by purchasing the Canadian import of Se7en. Not only is it 1080i instead of 1080p, it has also been "opened up" from it's intended 2.35:1 ratio to the 16x9 friendly 1.78:1 ratio (similar to a full screen DVD, in that it fills the entire screen), ruining the director and cinematographer's shots.

Also, there are no special features or even subtitles.

Look here for a review with screenshots.

It may be 1080i and cropped, but it still beats watching it on DVD or TNT-HD... This version will hold me over until the US release... You can get it on ebay for less than $20...

I am not giving them a cent of my money for a butchered version of Seven, I have it in OAR on DVD. I rented the Blu ray and the picture quality was not good at all, most likely because they had to zoom in on the image making it less sharp. I hope there is a US release that is lossless and OAR then I'll pick it up but until that time I will buy other movies.
