The Disney+ versions are taken from the original negative. 4K77 is a release print. It’s going to be vastly inferior in terms of things like detail and contrast, but it’s the best we’re probably ever going to get and they did a mighty fine job.

Still waiting on a release of all the old Gladiator fights in Rome. Hopefully we won't have to wait much longer so I can go on living.

You don't deserve it. You want it. There is a difference. And the amount of people who act like complete spoiled *******s about it is mindboggling.

Any person who has sat through Jedi Rocks once deserves not only the UOT on UHD but they deserve a hand written apology from George Lucas in his own blood.

The Hobbit, the book, had changes to Chapter 5. This is because with the release of The Lord of the Rings, Gollum as a character didn't fully fit with the future works.

I never see fans clamoring for the original edition to be published. They just accept that the creator had to make changes on his previous work.

Somehow with movies, this is some huge no/no for a small fraction of fans.

It is stupid and childish. Lucas has every right to make changes and keep the changes moving forward. End of story. Grow up.

It's neither stupid or childish. Those of us who saw them as they were presented theatrically would like to have them on disc for posterity in the same manner in which they were shown to the world.

I want the originals, my preference and my choice. How expressing this opinion impacts your life personally I fail to see. People want them, deal with it. You're the only one whining.

Ok Boomer

It is childish. The creator should be able to dictate the art he releases to the world. He has made up his mind. Accept the current one or go onto something else.

I grew up on Return of the Jedi on VHS. I'm happy to watch it however George intends. Even with the "NOOOOOOOOO" near the end.

You know what's really stupid and childish? Adding CGI to movies that were made when CGI didn't even exist. Defending what this idiot did is being against film preservation itself.

And let me remind you that Empire and Jedi are not really "his" films.

He created Star Wars. Just because he let somebody else direct, doesn't mean they aren't his films.

If he let somebody else direct the prequels, they would still be his films.

If they used his scripts for the sequel trilogy.... they would still be his films.
