Still, an HDR grade is going to be its own thing anyway so I'm not crying into my cereal at the thought of them starting over. I mean, they could take the Scott-approved master as a guide and then tease out some more range in the appropriate areas. Get DP Jeff Kimball in to approve it (as Paramount would prefer to have the talent involved in regrading for HDR e.g. https://www.engadget.com/2018/07/18/...le-4k-and-hdr/), job done. |

From what I can tell, the Dolby TrueHD 5.1 track on the standard and 3D Blu-rays is the original audio mix. I really hope that’s ported over if it is indeed the original audio mix. I’m totally fine with crazy Atmos remixes as long as the original audio mixes of catalog titles is carried over... or the Atmos remix is done by the same team with the exact same materials, just with different separation (like the Matrix trilogy).

Braveheart, Forrest Gump, Gladiator was DTS:X, Saving Private Ryan, Transformers, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen received Dolby Atmos remixes. I guess it depends on the title on whichever catalog title Paramount decides to remix in Dolby Atmos for their 4K UHD releases.

The opening credits sequence on the flight deck is one big optical and will look like hot shit in 4K HDR, it wouldn't surprise me if it's 'grain managed' quite a bit, though I wonder if Paramount will redo the titles digitally like they did on Beverly Hills Cop?

Heck, the titles were already redone at the very beginning (against black) on the 3D version. Man, as tempting as a 4K release is, I can’t imagine enjoying the film any more than I do in that 3D presentation, warts and all. I’ve watched it countless times, and it’s always super entertaining.
