Did Toy Story 2 have the same BD as before (with the so called objectionable Stinky Pete line in the credits), or was it a BD of the new transfer with that part edited out like the 4K disc?

Is there something in the September rerelease that Disney is going to remove that I don't know of?

I think we'll be getting the new versions on the Blu-rays, if only because they don't want different versions of the movies out there.
The older versions always disappear in favor of the new versions. |

I'm getting it because well, its Star Wars in 4K. There was no way I wasnt getting it. I'm still hopeful that maybe for once I can get rid of my DVD special feature discs as they will all be on this set ("Empire of Dreams" is at least on D+, but the excellant PT features like "The Begining" are not) Only reason I havent sold my bluray set yet.

I guess that's a no from you then since neither of these are happening. Even though at least the Ewok movies are a lot more likely then OOT.

Still up in the air for me. It should be a day 1, no brainer purchase but until the official details are out and some reviews come in I think I have to wait. I mean, if it’s the same Blu-ray’s we already all have and the 4K transfers are overly processed and/or digitally dicked with.... is it worth it? Not necessarily, IMO.
This shouldn’t be like this. We should be confident that Disney does these discs RIGHT. Sucks that it has to be this way. This is one of the negatives of Disney buying Star Wars and Fox. Can’t trust their 4K releases. |

Are these 4k disc releases just disc versions of what's already on Disney+? I've read that the HDR implementation isn't particularly strong (actually that's apparently true of the Mandalorian aswell)
And aren't the 4k prints what Lucasfilm was working on anyway before Disney acquired them? |

Day never. I'm a child of the 80's and a fanatical Star Wars fan, but this set does nothing for me. I grew up watching the movies that were released on VHS and laserdisc, and enjoyed the Special Editions when I saw each of them opening night in 1997. I have grown to hate every change from the originals over time, and I refuse to spend any money on yet another bloated box set of movies that I have already bought 5 or 6 times already.
I have downloaded 4K77 and 4K83, which I know won't be as sharp as Disney's discs, but they are truly the only way I will watch these movies from now on...until the next preservation that may come along that bests it. I have the Blu-ray set with all 6 Lucas movies, so I already own a DNR'ed to hell copy of Episode I, and the other two prequels are locked in at 1080p, so they're about as good as they're going to get anyway. Bought 3-D set for the Force Awakens and own the 4K for the Last Jedi. I will probably get the 4K of the Rise of Skywalker, and to me that's good enough to call it quits to Star Wars and the never ending cycle of upgrading home formats until I get an official release of the UOT. This set gets a hard pass from me. |

I didn't realize that each movie would have its own bonus disc, so I'm now kinda tempted to get the set. I assume those discs won't be available with the individual releases, but I also don't think there'll be a whole lot of new material on there anyway.

Does anyone think this will sell out before release? I'm cash poor atm and the price has gone up to £200 now.
I wonder if they're gonna drop the price after a couple of months on sale. E.T. limited edition has been out for two years plus and is still available. It took ages for the Spidey 4k set to sell out and there were only 1000 copies. Then again, the Once Upon A Time HMV limited set has sold out. It's not likely they'll reduce it below £180 before release, as it will cost them a lot of revenue (from everyone who's pre-ordered.) I'm hoping it drops to around £140 at some point. |
