Sorry, but no horror film today compares to them. I like a lot of recent films, but the '70s and '80s have some of the greatest horror movies ever made.

Agree that those are great, but Hereditary and The Witch is every bit as good as those. I despise the stupid Conjuring movies and evil Nun whatnots, but you may be missing out of some really good movies. Don’t Breathe and Crawl are great thrillers. Let’s don’t forget about some foreign classics, Let the Right One In, The Orphanage, and a couple of Korean gems as well. You can even throw horror comedy into the mix with What We Do in the Shadows and Shaun of the Dead.
