I hope
[Show spoiler]Hawkins has a vital role otherwise what's the point in keeping him alive, if he is just laying around in a hospital bed

I don't think it sounds terrible, to be honest. Sounds about par for the course along with the 2018 film.

What I do find concerning is
[Show spoiler]if the run time is roughly 100-105 minutes, that could be a big problem with the supposed large amount of time allocated to flashbacks--as well as the Strodes not showing up until about 40-minutes into the film. It just sounds like a lot of pointless, wasted time, to get to what is essentially being set up for a third and final film. It takes away any real tension.

Also, if 'Man of Steel' has taught us anything, it's that too much time used for flashbacks can really break the pace of a film.

Do not want that to happen.

There's a few things I'm not too happy with, but i'll accept:

[Show spoiler]A. Michael seemingly being a Jackass in this movie. Torture and playing around with characters really wasn't a thing he did. The sheet in the original made a little sense and was a good scare. The Teeth thing in the last one didn't really do much for anyone besides just show how brutal he was.
Speaking of
B. The brutality. I'm always for blood and gore and scares. But Halloween and MM was never really known for it. A couple death scenes here or there, but really nothing until Zombie's Halloween did it go nuts. Now it just sounds like we're getting a better written version of those movies.

But honestly, somethings not really sitting right with me with these test screenings. Why would a highly anticipated horror sequel have a highly publicized screening for the movie 8 months out? Especially with twists that it has

If all the new returning characters die in this movie there’s not much left to have in Halloween Ends (2021) is there? Just Laurie her granddaughter and Hawkins? Suppose we could have a new doctor Wynn?

QUICK SUMMARY:
[Show spoiler]"Leaked script" is 100% fake or the draft was so early it was entirely rewritten.
Brutal like RZ H2 almost.
Very much "Supernatural" vibes. "The boogeyman could be anywhere" kind of thing.
Michael is back to his trickery. (taunting and tricks play a big part)
Soundtrack was placeholder in test screening cut. No new music in this early version.
Opening scene is a flashback to 1978. Takes up approx 20 minutes.
Loomis is in the flashback.
Flashback is used to give Hawkins some more backstory and tie him into the Myers case more personally. Played by a younger actor in 1978.
Hawkins survived H18 and is found by Cameron after flashback sequence.
Hawkins is in the hospital, awake, for the entire movie.
Laurie, Allyson and Karen don't come into the movie until 40ish minutes in.
Very much "Karen's movie".
First scene with Tommy, Lindsey, Lonnie and Marion takes place in a Bar. They have no idea Michael is on the loose yet. "This kinda takes place during the H18 finale".
Mask is slightly melted. Not too much.
Michael is unmasked multiple times, we do see his face like H18.
Lindsey pulls his mask off in a similar scene to H78 (Laurie unmasking him) to stop him from attacking her so she can run off.
Quote from Source: "Brackett really is kind of in a backseat. He doesn’t really have a purpose. He’s the hospital security guard."
The Myers House plays a central role. Entire 3rd act takes place at the Myers house.
Deaths: Sonrda and her husband. Marcus, Vanessa, Marion, Lonnie, Tommy, Brackett, Cameron, like 50 mob residents and Karen.
Last scene of the film: Laurie calls Karen's cell phone. Michael answers Karen's phone after killing her, it's Laurie, realizing her daughter is dead, hearing his breathing, she has a breakdown before snapping out of it and declaring to Michael that it's Showtime.
Halloween 2018 might have ended with Laurie winning, but Halloween Kills ends with Michael winning, making the score 1-1. Setting up Halloween Ends with a vengeful Laurie.
Length was approximately 1 hour 40 minutes. Similar to Halloween 2018.

FIRST ACT:
[Show spoiler]Opening scene is a Flashback to Michael being apprehended, which includes young Lonnie coming face to face with him. Hawkins and Loomis (CGI, which is almost on point, but needs a little tweaking). //note from me: I thought it wasn't CGI, but turns out, it is, on Loomis.\\
Flashback sequence is quite long, approximately 20 minutes, maybe longer.
Opening credits is a pumpkin on fire.
Cameron finds Hawkins shortly after the attack from Sartain and calls 911 and then calls his dad, Lonnie.
We see Michael **** up all the firefighters.
We cut to the bar scene starting with Vanessa and Marcus before revealing Tommy, Lindsey and Marion. They see a report on the news featuring Julian and they begin to believe Michael is alive and after hearing Laurie Strode’s name on the news, they all leave the bar.
Tommy splits from the group and heads straight for the hospital to see Laurie.
We see Sondra and her husband murdered. We see that Sondra has her a light bulb screwed into her head. Michael plays with Sondra’s husband's dead body in front of her. Like decorations.
Vanessa, Marcus, Lindsey and Marion are driving together and encounter notice a bunch of bratty teenagers near a swing set. They pull over.
Lindsey rushes over to them and tries telling them to go home, it's late, not safe, etc.
They're very snobby and horrible to her and laugh at her.
The kids mention someone WAS watching them from afar not long ago, one of their friends went off to see who it was, but never came back. We all know how that probably went.
One of the kids points out Michael in the distance, stood, watching them, another kids mask in his bloody hand.
Lindsey screams to the kids to run home, they do, she rushes back towards the car, the Shape follows.
Lindsey jumps back into the car with the group, they're all confused why she's so worried and panic-y.
Then Michael rushes up the back of their car like in 1978, smashes the window on Marion's side.
Michael kills Marcus, attacks and kills Marion who actually goes down with quite a fight this time (much better than H20).
Vanessa comes shooting at him and the closer she gets, Michael causes her to shoot her self. My source never noticed them explain why or where she got the gun from. Possibly they plan to fix this in the inevitable reshoots? Just an observation.
Michael turns his attention to Lindsey and has her in a choke hold against their car, she rips his mask off to distract him and runs away.
He goes searching for her and she is hiding in an embankment under water until he gives up and moves on. She’s found and taken to the hospital where we don’t see her again, therefore expect her in the next film.

SECOND ACT:
[Show spoiler]We then pick up with Laurie, Karen and Allyson arriving to the hospital in the back of the truck.
The second act really isn’t a lot going on. Lots of hospital scenes. Karen and Allyson grieve Ray’s death pretty hard. Laurie and Karen vow to protect each other at all costs with Karen really kinda stepping up at promising to keep her Mother safe.
Laurie spends much of the time believing Michael is dead, but Karen and Allyson know he is not thanks to the news on the TVs, but they keep it from her.
Laurie and Hawkins share a hospital room. You kind of get the vibe that he’s Karen’s father, but he also mentions how they only kissed and didn’t get far because Laurie had a thing for Ben Tramer back then. They’re very cutesy with each other.
Tommy arrives at the hospital. When word is finally out that Michael is alive, Laurie pleads with Tommy to get him, to kill him and she actually tries to get out of bed. They all know he'll be heading home.
Tommy creates a lynch mob at the hospital with the towns people and you see there’s a person wandering the hospital who is revealed to be one of the escaped patients from the Smith's Grove bus.
Everyone mistakes him for Michael and insists he is Michael, but Karen pleads with Tommy and the others telling them he’s not him and actually tries to protect him until the patient is cornered and kills himself.

THIRD ACT:
[Show spoiler]The third act is at the Myers house.
Lonnie, Cameron and Allyson are attacked by Michael - with Lonnie dying and Cameron being tortured to death in front of Allyson. Killing Cameron in front of her.
Michael throws Allyson off the stair case breaking one of her legs. He’s taunting her and about to kill her when Karen shows up and attacks Michael and gets him to come after her.
Michael follows Karen outside as she’s running, but keeps stopping to make sure he’s still following her. Then comes her “Gotcha” again moment and she leads him into the mob and they all attack Michael like a mother ****er.
Tommy tells Karen to go back to Allyson and help her. Michael takes on the mob starting with Tommy and his bat. We see Michael get the advantage over the massive group.
Michael kills everyone in that mob group, starting with Tommy by killing him with his own baseball bat. Brackett next, and so on, until they're all dead.
Karen gets Allyson out of the house and a few people are outside the house with them. Karen goes back inside the house for some reason and goes into Judith’s bedroom. She notices a reflection in the window that she thinks is outside, but it’s Michael behind her.
Trespassing in Judith's room, Michael kills the **** out of her. It’s emotional at the same time and makes you kinda tear up.
It ends with Laurie calling Karen’s cell phone and Michael picks up the phone, Laurie hears his breathing and she realizes her daughter is dead and has a breakdown before snapping out of it and declares to Michael it’s showtime.

It was most likely screened well in advance in the event the audience had negative reactions to specific sections of the film, including the plot twists. This would allow plenty of time for rewrites, gather the cast and crew and film the new scenes, which may or may not result in additional test screenings.

The good news is there's plenty of time between now and October to film any new scenes if that's the case. The production for H:Kills is lengthy and isn't rushed as H:'18.

I understand the point of having a screening...but to have it this far in advanced? And have it be this publicized? A little weird to me

It's not uncommon to have a studio announce and organize a test screening this far out from release.

I'm trying to resist every urge to tear through all those spoilers! So far, so good. But for those who read them, one thing that I'm really curious about...

Does the beginning of the film pick up exactly after H:18 with the ending seeming to suggest that H:Ends will pick up exactly where H:Kills leaves off?

I find it intriguing if H:18, H:Kills and H:Ends all take place on the same night with each film picking up where the previous one ended. They can be watched and enjoyed on their own, but when viewed back to back they form one MASSIVE, EPIC film.

I can't possibly read spoilers to my favourite movie franchise of all time. I used to have a bad habit of reading the last page of a novel before I read the first and it would obviously spoil the whole thing for me. Thankfully got out of that habit many many years ago so I'm not going to start that bad habit again now by finding out what happens in a movie before I even go to see it.

But damn am I so eager to see. Like everyone else says, 9 months is a long time.

It wasn't this far away though.

Halloween (2018) started filming in mid-January and finished filming in mid-February. The test screening for that one was around April (I think), which means it was about 6 months before it released.

For Halloween kills we're talking about a 9 month wait. I mean 3 more months might not seem like a big difference but it really is. Especially when you consider the fact that Blumhouse doesn't usually drop their trailer until 4 months before release date.
