Default Deepstar six or leviathan

A small thing to ask in my opinion.

DEEP STAR SIX coming from Koch Media at two different Mediabook Editions. I'll bet Koch will make better compression than Japanese or Spanish edition.

To be perfectly honest that's something I wasn't aware of. In Italy also? And all in blu? How the heck I've managed to avoid all that?

German editions of movies are usually well done, but I believe only the version from Japan has DTS 5.1. I wonder if audio will be DD 2.0 or DTS 5.1. This and Leviathon are guilty B movie pleasures from the 80s.

Funny I just got started on a cover for this using original 80s artwork. WIP in early stages. And was completely unaware this was coming in Nov . 2019

Is Koch known for doing great releases with good PQ/AQ?

PQ/AQ are usually good, depending on what material they are given to work with.

The only Koch blu I own with partially poor audio and video is Flesh+Blood (1985).

Good to know, I have never seen Deepstar Six, so I will wait for the Kino release.

Still need Deepstar Six, be nice to have a complete set of underwater movies from 1989, wouldn't it James...

Looks like this is out but region B locked. Though my Panasonic has a way to bypass.

Anyone get this? No forced subs I hope. What the mediabook look like?

https://www.amazon.de/Deep-Star-Six-.../dp/B07WQ1P72C

UPDATE:
Found a review, looks like the uncut version has 5 min of subtitles forced in German. Now the only way to view the cut version is the German version with German audio. Also not sure if the extras have forced subs like the Making of. I doubt this will ever get released in the US so the import might be the best bet.

The word is that Kino will be putting this out sometime this year.

Deep Star Six has always been my favorite over Leviathan, Endless Descent (The Rift) and The Abyss. Very fond memories of renting this several times on VHS. I always loved the dive suits with the port holes. Directed by Sean S. Cunningham? Miguel Ferrer?? What's not to love?
If Kino does happen to release this on Blu... I'd be estatic! The artwork on the Koch mediabooks looks amazing!

Watched Leviathan last night for the first time since 1989. It's not great but it's better than Deepstar Six.
