^ She owns eleven films: the ones mentioned above, along with Apache Woman, Oklahoma Woman, and Naked Paradise.

New to the SH conversation-but, is she against the MST versions being released or the films themselves?

If it is against the films being released in a "mocking/joking/making fun of the production" version(ala MST), then I applaud her. Release the films, sans the MST crap.

I, myself, could care less about the MST3K, I am only interested in the movies, I was a Teenage Werewolf, I was a Teenage Frankenstein, Invasion of the Saucer Men, It Conquered the World, and The Amazing Colossal Man.

I don't like the MST stuff either, but she's been against licensing the films themselves for decades. Basically, she wants a TON of $$$ for them, because Columbia paid them a lot for the VHS releases 3 decades ago during the prime VHS period (and Columbia lost a lot of money on those as they didn't sell well for them), and she still thinks the films are worth that amount or more, when they are really worth a tiny fraction of what they got back then considering how niche and old they are now. She's a loon. I don't know if a Shout deal is in the works, but I don't believe it at this point, regardless of those legal lawsuit records.

Against the films themselves.

She's pretty much locked them in a cupboard since the late 90's.

The Eye Creatures (TV)
Zontar, The Thing from Venus (TV)
Interestingly I had a never released Orion video VHS proof tape of the Eye Creatures made by the duplicators being used at the time. The transfer and quality was excellent for the time and it had the Orion logo with the spinning stars. I dont know what happened but it was never released.

Fred Olen Ray released a public domain version on DVD but the quality wasn't great.

So they don't let anybody else release it and they refuse to release it themselves? Sometimes I can't even...

Thought I would say the same thing. I got my copy of Candyman yesterday and it had the slip.

Also got Cronenberg's Rabid and that had a slip as well.

Both were ordered from Amazon.

They’re worth even less than they would be because she’s kept them completely out of circulation for decades. And Shout Factory is apparently arguing that the films might actually be public domain because the copyright wasn’t renewed like it was supposed to. This all just goes to show you that people should not own copyrights to films if they’re this out of touch with the entertainment industry.

Are those the sale prices or will they be even more discounted when the sale starts?

Those are currently their regular prices. When the sale goes live (probably tomorrow afternoon), they will be discounted up to 80% off list price.

Are you sure about that?

I find it hard to believe Candyman will be cheaper then $13.97

I didn’t look closely at the prices. I just saw the titles at the top of the page at their regular prices like 8mm for $23.99 and The Ambulance for $22.99 and figured they were all not on sale yet. Yeah, Candyman for $13.97 certainly seems like a sale price.

In the past they were pretty consistent in their use of Viva Elites though these days while Viva Elites are still the primary case used, they have and will use other style of cases as well, sometimes even within a single box set. Both The Fly and The Omen sets this last year had reports of multiple styles of cases appearing within a single set. I myself also experienced this as well.

If you want to go with what they use most of the time, go with Viva Elites. My advice... go with whatever you want and don't worry about it much. In recent weeks I've switched to the disney style of clasp/locking system cases as they can be found for much cheaper, more readily, and look and work all the same.
