Now it's one of my favorite comedies. I can't explain why the change of heart. I really can't. One night I was watching it with a friend (who's always loved it) and I laughed my ass off. I've loved it ever since. I think once you accept it's stupidity the more you will enjoy it. "I'm sick, I swear to God, I can't go to school."
