FWIW, when shippers aren't out yet but the sale is active, the contents are generally "in the back", and you can almost always ask an employee to look for you if you are already there. Granted, it takes away your ability to specifically select a copy with a slipcover, but no more so than placing an order online for in-store pickup...

Yeah, normally I probably would have, but I was running low on time this afternoon, so I couldn't wait around any longer. Oh well.

Unforgiven still had remnants of its original cellophane, but once opened, come to find out, it was mostly gone, as was the digital code. WB CS will only replace a missing digital code if you provide a picture of the slipcover that shows it should come with a digital copy, so no slip, no DC.
I agree. It's confusing that the Digital code info is only on the slips and not the case artwork. So I passed on Unforgiven. But I did pick up The Matrix, The Town and Argo which all has the slips.

After a long back and forth with WB CS after a couple BF Walmart 4K purchases, and noting some recent re-releases of WB 4K titles that excluded digital, I think it's an intentional decision on WB's part. They're trying to push people to pay for digital directly rather than get it as a part of the physical disc release.

Is the Planet Earth II deal in store also? Unfortunately I ordered Man of Steel and Doctor Who set at Amazon yesterday and don't want to spend another $35 just to order PE II. Might just cancel my Amazon order anyway cause MoS isn't as good of a deal.

FWIW, and I know that's not much, I was able to get slipcovers on 4 titles: Argo, Man of Steel, Superman, and The Town. I Am Legend and Unforgiven did not have any.

A side note, in my first visit back to the store since Christmas, I noted that the 4K section has been downsized notably. They don't even have enough titles in stock to use all of the shelf space, to the point that the Disney/Marvel 4K steelbooks are taking up several slots in the regular 4K section rather than the exclusive steelbook section.

Edit: Also, a heads up, my Unforgiven was resealed/shrink-wrapped and did not contain a digital code. Considering that WB has been re-releasing 4Ks intentionally without digital and denying requests for missing digital codes for those without slipcovers that specifically mention digital, I'm guessing that the DCs might have been intentionally removed in some of these like they were for Walmart BF...
They kind of had to do that because it's been impossible to get rid of the 4K Disney steelbooks. Flooding the steelbook section with them would deny other studios from getting theirs in stores. Surprised no one mentioned the DOTD yesterday (a bunch like Iron Man, Frozen and Cars were $10).

Yes and Oceans 4K is also on sale for $10.

I already had the Specials on Blu-Ray and the rest of Tennant's run on DVD but I had to pick this up based on the price.

If they didn't price them so outrageously high on release, they probably wouldn't have such overstock.

Only 40 minutes though vs. 300 for Earth II.

My 3 for $35 shipper was completely picked over. Usually that doesn't happen.

2 copies of The Town & Argo with slips. 1 copy of Ready Player One, I Am Legend & Man of Steel.

Thats all.

No 3/35 shipper was out at the BBY location I stopped by today. Although there were significant holes in all of the racks and shippers so maybe they're preparing for the Tuesday releases.

I saw the shipper at my store yesterday, and after some thought, I just bought "Superman: The Movie 4K" for $15.99.

I'd been waiting for a price drop on it, and there weren't two other (or even one) titles I wanted.

BTW: BBY.com said they only had one copy available, but there were two in the shipper.

Was near a BBY so I checked for Superman and almost gave up after seeing that it didn't even have a slot on the shelves. But right before leaving I stumbled across the shipper and lo and behold, there was one copy and it had a mint slip plus a perfectly placed sticker in the corner (I regret taking the commemorative sticker off my Halloween '78 UHD). Blind buy for me which is why I held off until I could get it cheap.

Only THREE copies of Twilight Zone at my store this morning, and they weren't in the "New Release" kiosk. I went back to the aisles to find them, and chose the one with the best slip...

On the other hand, there was about a dozen of ABDITN 4K in the new release kiosk (all but one slip had damage), but the regular aisle only had the BD.

I went away happy, but damn!
