Yeah, I took a lot of measurements just before i bought the Center, when I saw the center in person, I started praying it was gonna fit. I think there is about a 3/8" difference in width of the two. On the A/V rack, I was gonna get the pioneer 1018 but it wouldn't fit so I got the Sony, people can say what they want but that is one fine Sony reciever.

Well the transformation is almost complete in the living room..... I sold a Sony 5.1 speaker setup and STR-DG710 AVR for $300. With that complete I just ordered a pair of Energy C-100 bookshelf speakers to replace the surrounds, I will still be using a single B1000 Sony bookshelf as a 6th speaker for a little while.

I also sold my 42" Vizio Gallevia LCD for $600 and so I will be looking at getting either the 32" LG 32LG30 or a Samsung 32" 32A450 for the bedroom.... Looks like we will be window shopping to decide what to buy on amazon. The Vizio did a terrible job with SD TV and we find that the Samsung in the livingroom does a much better job, so I think we will get another Samsung, but we still want to check out whats out there right now.

Congrats on the sale and upgrades. I have heard a lot of people say the same thing about SD material with Vizio's. I think going with either the Sammy or LG for the bedroom was a good move.

I think you need to delete all the ratings from your old setup and start anew. You'll be up over 4.5 for this new setup. It looks (and I bet it sounds) great. I wish I had a bit more space in my living room to rock something like this.

Thanks Brett, I appriciate the comments, I hope people find my setup a nice one, but if they don't then oh well, they don't have to live with it..... I love it. Some people will just downgrade you cause of a Sony reciever or an LCD, so screw them.....

What size is your living room? mine is only 12x16 at the most.... I am sure you could fit these speakers into your space nicely...... these speakers are powerful but not overkill for small living rooms, I bet you would love them....

check out www.wwstereo.com and see the Energy 5.0 setup for $399, with a 30 day return policy, if they are too much return them....

Yep, naysayers are prevalent in all walks of life. It doesn't even matter what we're talking about; you can apply that to anything! People hate just to hate or have their opinion heard for the sake of hearing themselves speak.

Anyway, It sounds like your living room and mine are of similar size. I've got two little rugrats running around, so floor speakers aren't really an option right now for me. Plus we've got a faux wood-burning stove that takes up a nice 4' x 4' section and limits my options as far as speaker placement goes. I could probably swing it, but I'd have to be super-careful where I put them because obviously I don't want them to melt or delaminate, and I have to make sure the kids don't kick them or knock them over if they're on stands.

Yeah, I have a 2 year old and a 4 (almost 5) and they have learned not to touch...... I used to have a stove/fireplace in the middle of my living room, first thing I took out when I bought my house..... Now the TV stand is there....

Replacing the stove with a TV ... NICE! I could very easily remove our stove and it wouldn't make the room feel "empty" per se, but then we'd have no heat; our house doesn't have forced air. Yeah, I know we live in California, but we still need heat in our house.

I have been through Santa Cruz, it was chilly in the spring during the day, Well I live in the hills of Riverside and it gets freezing up here at nights, I know why the lady before us put it there, but it had to go, I tell my wife to wear a sweater.... you should see the looks that creates, we have "central" air, but it is from the bottom, which works well in 3 locations, but the rest is still cold.... A/C works the same way but better then the heater But thank God, cause summers get down right nasty.....

Ok guys, I talked with the wife about getting a new piece of furniture so I can consolidate my components and properly space out my speakers and everything I was looking at something like This and was wondering are these safe? are they easy to use? and do you know if there are less expensive ones out there?

Also I kinda thought about getting a larger TV in the future.... somewhere between 46"-52" be it an LCD or Plasma has not even been considered, but I wanted to make sure that in a year or two I don't have to get a new stand.

Would a bigger stand still hold a 40" TV or are they size specific?

Thanks Steve

Steve, take a look at www.salamanderdesigns.com, they are modular, and you can use their online build software to put together whatever you need. Wide selection of finishes, and options.

I think Aramis109 has a similar stand without any issues.

Whats up guys,

So first things first. I just bought a new Sony BDP-S360 blu-ray player. I am excited, this is my Christmas gift, but it is also a family gift.... My Panny BD-10A just died... RIP..

I am going to move the Panny BD-35 to the bedroom and have the Sony out in the living room, I bought it last night, so I will post pics as soon as I get it and set it up.

OK for the bigger news, My wife and I are having a baby. This will be our 3 and final child. Please pray for me that I have a boy. I have 2 girls already, and would love a boy. My wife went to the Dr today and they confirmed what we already knew..,.. Pregnant. Some of yolu already know, but for those that don't..... now you know
