^^^ I hate that we have to go with guesses like that (unless they clarify in GvK). There's an interesting vid on yt breaking down what we learn in that scene and the guy theorizes Kong's parents were killed there by many young skull crawlers overwhelming them and so that's why Kong fiercely fights the crawlers every time he crosses paths with them in the movie, I guess he knows they're more than just a threat, they also killed his parents.

I feel like those skeletons were HUGE.

If I'm mistaken, then maybe the characters were as well?

Full disclosure, this isn't going to be something that bothers me. If they hit Godzilla with a shrink ray, or Kong just randomly shows up twice the size for no reason, I'll be okay with it

LOL...same here, I don't mind either really, it was just something that caught my attention (I recently re-watched Skull Island, and yeah, the remains are basically the same size as current Kong, certainly not Godzilla/Titan sized anyway). I also jokingly said something similar, I don't care if they suggest Kong was breathing nuclear dirty air all his life or drinking gama polluted water that makes him extra big...just bring on a good movie and I'll go with it haha!

Godzilla vs Kong is nothing more than a marketing idea that the filmakers just need to make fit somehow.

Based on the title alone, it's working.

After 20 years of the majority of fans pretending the '98 film doesn't exist/doesn't count, I don't really care at this point.

I misread this for a second and thought you were proposing a theory along the lines of "maybe the human characters we see are actually fifteen feet tall".

If this sequel went with that explanation, it would be exactly the kind of ridiculous nonsense that the American movies have been lacking when compared to the Japanese ones. They should go for it.

lol. whatever. after seeing the trailer for the 2014 one and then watching the entirety of Shin Godzilla I just felt hey leave Japanese products to the Japanese. I need an American Godzilla as much as I need a Japanese Superman. Ive seen many films that tried to American-ize foreign films and usually it results in a dumbed down experience

GvK won't be the last G-film, after this comes out Toho is going to launch their new series of G-films.

I read something about a contract stating that no live action Toho film can release the same year as an American one and that they have to take turns or something like that
so after the last one I thought it was Toho's turn now... not sure. anyways Id like a direct sequel to Shin and pick up where it left off

Toho sucks. They make so many poor decisions all the time.
