It will be the first time I don't re-buy the movies on a new format in my entire life...and that's coming from someone who bought them 3 times on laserdisc on a teenagers "salary."

Buy them individually with the b2g1 and it's less than $200.

These will be $29.99 everywhere. I don't know where you're getting $35.

Not even for just the presentation of the movies themselves?

I get that. I doesn't bother me because that's all I've known but each to their own. It's like some people obsessing over slipcovers and others throwing them straight in the bin.

Probably not, actually, since it's a Best Buy exclusive. There's no need to drop the price since there aren't any other retailers to compete with.

Do you mean if/when that promotion eventually comes around again at Best Buy?

Presentation of what? I'll never watch the prequels again and they're upconverts.

I'll never watch the SE's again so I'll just wait for someone to take these masters and de-specialize them.

The only time I've ever seen the blu-ray cuts were when I was forced to at the live-to-picture concerts. I've never watched the discs because there's no reason to.

I've said from the beginning that this boxed set/release hinges on the supplemental features...and they couldn't even do that right. It's probably going to be a hodgepodge of crap from each release without getting everything. No care or interest in pleasing most fans who are tired of buying these movies and them getting nothing right.

This is the also the first time that the movies have been released without new supplements.

Think about that.

Notice it says nothing about "NEW deleted scenes" or "NEWLY found archival footage." Nothing but a running time. Because there's nothing new to tout.

Lazy.

And that's not even apples to apples as the Skywalker Saga won't include Rogue One - however, you will need to add Rise of Skywalker to your total unless you were planning on skipping it.

So you are still $10 cheaper by skipping Last Jedi if you are just getting 1-7, 9.

Anyone who wants Rogue One (people buying Singles or the Set) has to add that to the top.

Is there any Star Wars movie on disc that you actually DO like watching?

TFA, TROS, RO.

I'll be buying those 3. The rest can **** off. And my wallet will be happier (and lighter) for it.

This is what discs I'll have in each of the nine individual cases of mine.

For the PT:

Keep everything, along with the DVD bonus discs.

For the OT:

Ditch the 4K discs, keep the regular Blu-Rays just for the commentaries, and save room for Blu-Rays of D+77, D+80, 4K83, and Adywan's Revisited versions.

For the ST:

Keep everything.

I got an email from Best Buy today updating my pre-order for 3/31. Guess I'll need to decide on whether I keep it soon.

I suspect he means the expected price for a hypothetical Best Buy exclusive SteelBook. With very few exceptions -- none of them Disney-related -- BBSB's run $35 each.

I'll consider that when/if they are announced.

Right, but that's without factoring empty BD cases and printer ink. That's a lot of color ink for those covers.

Cool

Lotta hate for the 4K box set that I don't understand. It took months for the "double-wide" dimensions to grow on me, but it's a great-looking set and a reasonable amount cheaper than buying each individually. Holding my preorder for sure. Glad I could pick up the whole saga at once in as compact a case as it comes in.

Also, I'm pleasantly surprised by the number of special features they're retaining. I no longer have the time to exhaust a bonus disc's content for each movie I buy, but I'm glad it's available for those who want it, and I definitely tend to take an interest in some of the features here and there.

Oh, plus none of those ugly "multi-screen format" banners. Ew.

Have you read any of our comments? Even if you don't agree, the reasons are really easy to understand.
