I miss the days of corded, rotary, and pay phones. I am dead serious when I say that.

I’m in the US, and preordered the UK set at £150. But I think I’ll get the Best Buy set instead, even though it’s $70 more than the UK set, after taxes, as it should come with 4K digital codes, and ?? exclusives?

The only true exclusive to the box set is the box. No extra discs or features. The letter also comes in the DVD set.

It's funny that some on here would accuse us of a crime for owning a copy of something we already own in alternate versions and formats, but just in a slightly different and unauthorized format, while Lucas himself is the one that has committed cultural vandalism by not making these works available in their original form.

Yes. George Lucas has been disingenuous at best as an artist and businessman. He's talked out of both sides of his mouth over the years. He's championed for art to be preserved in its original form without intervention and meddling by studios without the artists permission, but then he's vandalized his own works and taken away the ability for audiences to appreciate them in their original form for no reason other than a misplaced sense ego and vanity.

It looks like it from the pictures, so I would assume so.

So who thinks that the lack of deleted scenes is tied with the persistent rumors that J.J Abrams is discussing releasing a director's cut with Disney?

Maybe they're already planning their next 4K set after this one down the road, with the 3-hour cut of Episode IX, along with legacy editions of the other films, all remastered in 4K. Maybe even those original cuts of Rogue One and Solo. Also, Disney will buy the rights to the Snyder Cut of Justice League and make it an exclusive to the set (okay, I went too far).

As long as we are dreaming of fantasy sets that arent going to happen, why not throw in the 3d versions.

If they did do a Harry Potter Hogwarts edition like set though with extended cuts and extra bonuses though, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I would wager 50% is a huge UNDER-estimate when it comes to that. I would guess the ones that prefer the new version would primarily be people that have never seen the original version.
I like both changes. A lot. Get the over yourself. Just because you don't like the changes does not mean others do not.

Im actually really disappointed the 3d versions have not shown up. I loved TPM 3d and wanted to see the others.

The only way I can see them finally releasing the 3D versions is if the format makes a comeback, maybe based on whatever James Cameron is coming up with for Avatar 2, or if they finally crack glasses-free 3D and start implementing them in new televisions.

I'm sort of joking about the fantasy set, but I mean, Disney has got to figure out a way to keep releasing more Star Wars sets over time, with reasons for fans to keep buying them over and over again, right? And the current 4K set coming out is by no means definitive for various reasons.
