Interesting but I'd assume bare bones unless they get new stuff or have very very deep pockets to go begging to StudioCanal or LionsGate USA. I say LionsGate USA because Maple seem to be some sort of off-shoot legal entity where original Alliance prodcut seems tied up. The original Alliance (now part of LionsGate) was just an over-labelled release so I reckon the rights will be elsewhere.

I hope they can give us a full release but I'll stick with the UK and the old extras unless they have something amazing in the pipeline.

Maple Studios are situated in Canada. They are basically the Lionsgate of Canada as they distribute all of their titles. Lionsgate are releasing it in the US!

Review of the US disc http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/3618/jacobsladder.html

Reading that (and noting the coments about the extras ie they have them we don't) I think the reviewer may be unduly harsh on the film's transfer.

It seems more and more reviewers expect Shrek 3 like 'HD' quality and 4 discs of extras on every film.

Maybe someone with the US disc can comment on the transfer.

£5.99 on amazon.co.uk right now - but according to the Price History it has been as low as £4.69 earlier this year. Anyway, finally ordered this one.

The only release that is wort holding on to is the Japanese one. It has the highest bitstream, but the disc is too expensive at this point. I hope to god that Koch is doing justice for the movie with their compression because I'm pretty sure that the source is the same old master that has been used with all the previous releases from the movie. Anyway, I'm heading to Koch with this one, definitely.

Same old master as the Lionsgate, but Koch's has a different encode.

If I fully understand this movie (the ending at least):

[Show spoiler]The end part with the little kid/girlfriend character is like "heaven" for the main character but I thought he was given these weird mind drugs in Vietnam or something like that.
I read other theories that he really died in the 70's (?) in Vietnam so is the "present" (1990) in his head as a result of them? How could he imagine stuff that hadn't happened yet?
