We ordered from MVD the same day and our order hasn't shipped yet either. Still shows as "paid", but "unfulfilled" in my order history. Since they merged with oldies, I assume both use the same fulfillment center.

I take that as a yes, unless shipping BF promo orders is taking a lot longer than what is normal for oldies.

Same. Still waiting for separate MVD (11/23) and Oldies (11/26) orders to ship. MVD used to only take a few days, but I'm not sure when they merged operations with Oldies.

Ordered 15 titles from MVD sale on 11/23, got tracking number 11/28, and delivered 12/2.

Missing slips on most MVD Rewind titles but not surprising.

Someone posted in the dead deals MVD thread that MVD said there was a large amount of orders and most should ship out this week. I'd guess Oldies orders would be the same.

I'm still waiting on mine to ship to. I ordered from MVD's site though

I ordered 13 titles from MVD Shop within the first hour of the sale on 11/22 and it's still unfulfilled. Replied to my MVD order email today and got a reply from Oldies instead:

Quote:
We received THOUSANDS of orders during our annual Black Friday - Cyber Monday sale. We're still digging out. You'll receive an automated notice with the tracking number via e-mail as soon as it's enroute. Thanks again for the order... and we appreciate your patience!
I'm not one of those that bang loudly about shipping delays with big sales, but I am surprised so many others that ordered later than I did have already received theirs. As long as my order is complete and nothing has been deleted, I don't mind, but it feels odd to be put in the back of the line. My Oldies experiences this year have been terrible, so good to know going forward that MVD is one and the same.

Another Oldies reply:

Quote:
We have dozens of employees picking, packing and shipping orders. There's NO WAY things are going to move in a first-in, first-out basis. Fill rate on orders has been pretty darn close to 100%. I've handled a few hundred orders today and have yet to see a backorder.

Are MVD and Oldies the same company now? That answer is complicated. No, we're not... but we're operating out of MVD's offices and working very closely together. We're kinda like the strange step-sister, you could say.

Sorry, gotta run -- back to shipping orders!!!

This was my feeling as well. Simply responding, "Hey, we made a lot money and got a lot of orders, no thanks to you ordering immediately and a lot!" I'm very thoughtful of the work involved, big sales, and the holidays, but as a customer, that's not the take I really want to hear.

Not realizing MVD Shop would be handled by Oldies, my last 2 orders from Oldies sales went pretty poorly.

First one, they sent me a DVD instead of a BD, so I requested a replacement and they confirmed it. Shipped the DVD back and waited and waited. About 2 weeks after they received it, I finally emailed again and the reply said I had to call them. Ok. By phone they said, "Oh, the person that handles returns only works on Fridays, so it'll be a week or more until you hear back." Never heard back. Inquired again. And again. And finally they said "Oh, we sent you a refund", but they never communicated that to me, so I hadn't noticed it on my statement yet. Fair enough.

Next sale order of 10 items, one DVD was very scratched, so I asked for a replacement. Same methods, same wait times, same lack of responses to my inquiries. Finally they said they're contacting the German label about it(?) and I waited and waited some more. Eventually I noticed a refund on my statement, again they never contacted me to let me know they wouldn't be replacing it.

Oldies, but not goodies. If I ever order from them again, I'll keep my expectations very, very low.

I have to imagine anyone unimpressed with the shipping speed of Oldies/MVD must not order during Vinegar Syndrome's 2 big sales or Scream Factory's Shocktober. Both of those practically guarantee at least 2+ weeks until shipment and it could be over 4 weeks. So far we're only going on week 2 right now since MVD BF.

I can't say much as I already received my Oldies order but I did get all right titles in good shape packed in a box. Even if I was still waiting on my order I'd be fine with it because MVD had some of the best BF deals of any boutique label. Most of the other labels (beside Kino) definitely aren't offering a $10 price point, let alone titles in the $4-6 range.

They would be long moldering in the grave if they were waiting on Severin.

I'm not knocking the deals, but if they're not fulfilling orders in the order they were received as their support response stated in its insulting passive aggressiveness, that's not right at all, assuming they didn't shortsightedly leave out a viable reason why they're not fulfilling orders first come-first served. I've never ordered from Vinegar, but I've ordered from Shout sales aplenty. The whole point of ordering early in a sale is to avoid OOS delays and beat the crowd, thus avoiding shipping delays.

Even my Shout order from two shocktobers ago, probably the worst fulfillment fiasco Shout ever had, arrived within two weeks and I didn't get my order in until late the first day (technically early day-two as it was about 1 or 2 am when I ordered). With MVD I went to order before there was a single post in this discussion thread and they haven't even had the professionalism to send out notices about shipping delays, as if this is their usual speed.

Oldies is straight trash (for a detailed explanation see my posts from earlier in the thread). I was hoping their merger wouldn’t effect purchasing from the MVD site directly, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I purchased multiple orders during the Black Friday sale and only got the first notification for ONE package today.

And to the guy who mentioned Vinegar Syndrome, it’s apple and oranges. VS may take forever but I always get everything in my order eventually. With Oldies I would put in time picking out fairly large orders. Then my order would sit for weeks processing only for a big portion of the order never to be shipped because they ran out of stock. The final straw was when they cancelled an entire order of mine despite them still selling many of the items in my order on their website.

I’ll still give MVD a chance as I’ve had great experiences with them in the past. But if everything is just being shipped from the same place, and Oldies is handling it, I’m going to have to dip out.

So then it's confirmed, the folks at MVD are in fact sleeping with the folks at Oldies? My order of 19 items on 24 November, and still nothing. Under order status it says Earliest delivery is Nov 27, 2023 2-8 business days after order ships, but I've yet to receive a tracking number or shipment confirmation email. It would help if they had a rep on here like in other threads.

Same. I'm patient, especially when it comes to getting great deals (or even mediocre ones, as I expected Rain Man UHD to be a little lower). And I don't want to slow them down even more by hassling them with inquiries about when an order might ship.

We ordered within an hour of the sale posting here. Not sure how that relates to when it actually started though.

I believe their thousands of orders part. I don't buy that that's the problem though. Kino's sale probably resulted in even more orders and our first order arrived within a week. 3 wks and MVD/oldies haven't even shipped all day one orders? Either something is seriously wrong with their system, or they were badly unprepared and we all ordered the same title that they didn't have remotely sufficient stock of.
