Why are bathing suits called that if you don’t use them in the bathtub? Also why is water wet, and is there a dry version of water?

Is it going to rain all freaking day? I have stuff to do outside, although I guess it wouldn't hurt to tackle some of the indoor chores first...

They were worn because being tan was considered a bad thing. Why the name though, why not just call it a lounging suit, or a swimming suit.... why a bathing suit?

Around here it’s not suppose to start raining until 8pm.

People today are so obsessed by diets I pity them. I walked past a GNC the other day that had a poster of a young millennial with a half eaten cookie in her hand and a caption that said something like "a cookie every now and then is OK" as if eating cookies was a capital crime. And I know plenty of people who live on hummus, tofu and practically nothing else. I couldn't go through life like that. I don't advocate eating yourself to death but depriving yourself of treats is an entirely different thing.

my direct supervisor at work is trying to lose weight. she's lost a bit and is on track to lose a good deal more. but when i told her how much i'd lost, and how i lost it, she got peeved at me, lol.

she's been eating a small breakfast, salads for lunch, and a decent dinner. it looks like she's lost may 10-12 lbs.

i've been eating the exact same things i've always eaten (includes bread, pasta, and sweets), at the same times, and in the same amounts.....and i've lost a little over 20 lbs. how? from all the walking i do at work. and i'm not talking walking as in i go walk a couple miles during lunch; i mean just from all the walking i have to do while doing my job. i routinely get in anywhere from 13000-15000 steps a day.

I wish I walked more at my job... rather than sitting all day.

My Apple Watch tells me when I’ve been sitting too long and need to stand. The other day someone yelled at me for standing up and I responded "***** please, my watch is telling me to stand" and then ignored them the the next 10 minutes.

I have a desk job too and am trying to make an effort to stand more and walk around the lobby just to stretch my legs. I probably look like someone who hasn't taken his meds pacing around in a 15 sq. foot area It's pretty much the only way I can get exercise at work as I can't leave my post until my lunch hour at 2 PM.

Got a maybe dumb question.

I have an old 720p Toshiba question. Whenever I put a Blu-Ray in my PS3 - does it get downscaled to 720p? Thanks!

i think the ps3 would downscale it to whatever the output source is. most ps3 games are/were 720p.

Disappointed to hear that Maria Sharapova retired from tennis today. She had a year plus long suspension for (accidental) doping and since her return, she hasn't had the same results. I don't know if I would count myself as a fan but I do know that I wanted to see her keep playing for a few more years. Pops and I went to the USO in NY back in 2005, a year after she burst onto the scene (with her 2004 Wimbledon victory on Serena) but I'm not sure if we saw her that year.

Why is it considered some sort of unforgivable social violation for men to leave the toilet seat up?

Would it kill women to have to flip it down every once in a while?

I reject the notion that leaving the damn toilet seat up makes me a savage brute.

...I’m sick of it.

I always close the lid before I flush, something most people don’t bother to do. Just lowering the seat isn’t enough, you must close the lid. The reason for this is because as the water is rushing into the bowel after you flush a poop, tiny particles of fecal matter will break off when the water hits and fly up into the air. These particles are so small that you can’t see them, but they are there. Then they travel through the air and can land on anything; your food, your toothbrush, your bed pillow, etc.

Now obviously this is only required when pooping, but I close the lid after just peeing as well to get myself into the habit of doing it. If I only closed the lid when I poop, then I might forget. It’s always good to get into the habit of closing the lid before you flush.

^^ On your pillow? Who the hell sleeps in the bathroom? Must have been one hell of a fight with the wife if she didn’t even let you have the couch

Once airborne, the particles would travel through the hall and into your bedroom, unless of course you keep your bedroom door closed, even when not in it.
