you would think if those existed that they would have surfaced long ago.

Off hand does anyone know which of the Shout dvds had an AIP dub ?

It does state English dubs for all 12 films included, but no there is no confirmation as of yet those dubs are included. I did ask Arrow in a Facebook post, but haven't received a response.

Don't know what restoration they're going with for Gammera the Invincible (either the UCLA restoration or a new restoration altogether).

The following films have their AIP dubs for the Shout! releases:

-Gamera vs. Gyaos (Return of the Giant Monsters)
-Gamera Vs. Viras (Destroy All Planets)
-Gamera Vs. Guiron (Attack of the Monsters)
-Gamera Vs. Jiger (Gamera Vs. Monster X)

As far as I know, the first 5 Gamera sequels were the only ones that were dubbed by AIP/Titan and because the AIP cut of Gamera Vs. Barugon (War of The Monsters) had edits made for that version, it's the reason why that dub is not on the Shout! release (although including that cut wouldn't have hurt either).

Daiei did commission an international dub for Guiron, but that one was done by Pedro Productions in Tokyo.

Has that ever surfaced on home video? It would be great if that dub could be sourced from somewhere and included!

The only dub I don't have in my collection in the redneck one for Attack of Legion from the ADV DVD release.

I'm counting on you, Arrow.

The Pedro/export dub and the Sandy Frank dub are one and the same.

The only new dubs Frank had commissioned were GAMERA and ZIGRA, which may have been recorded in the UK.

Those were recorded in the 1960s in Hong Kong.

Wouldn’t Daiei have commissioned those dubs?

I didn't realize that. I have not listened to the Sandy Frank dub for GUIRON in ages, but my memory of it is that it was so bad I just assumed it was newly created by them. The ZIGRA dub is really bad, and my memory of the GUIRON one is just as poor.

I need to pull out that MST3K Gamera collection and watch it soon. A few of those episodes I've never even seen, and it will allow me the opportunity to reacquaint myself with the laughably bad dub tracks from Sandy Frank. I barely remember what the track for the original movie sounds like, since it's been so long since I've heard it.

Even though my primary concern is simply having the best subtitle translations possible, it would be cool if the AIP-TV dubs could be included. I honestly don't care about the Sandy Frank tracks, but I'm sure lots of other people do.

I'm 100% with you on having the AIP dubs , But a lot of people want those sandy franks as well . I sure hope Arrow can do the ultimate editions for everyone and even include the USA tv trailers with the pretty cool names like Attack of the monsters , Destroy all planets etc...

Can't wait for this set. I love the instrumental version of the Gamera theme song. Wish I could find it somewhere.

However, getting the Dark Horse 4 issue series again will be nice since the copies I had were part of my collection my brother stole to sell for drug money. That alone might entice me to get the set right away.
I feel your pain man, same thing happened to mine along with several movies and other collectibles I had. So sorry you had to go through that.

Zillamon51 mentioned Gamera 4:Truth. God if only! I would seriously lose my shit if that were to happen. But it just seems really unlikely, I think we have a better chance of getting Godzilla vs Wolfman released and that in and of itself seems pretty slim. LOL

Allot of people are mentioning Barnes and Noble doing half off Arrow sales. I never knew this was a thing. The Barnes and Noble stores near me don't even sell Arrow titles or is it mainly an online thing?

In any case I love this! I'm more excited for this set than I was the Godzilla Criterion set! Damn there have been soooo many blu-ray releases in just the last few months that I never thought would happen. Prophecy, The Legend of Boggy Creek, Beast And The Magic Sword and the Godzilla Criterion collection just to name a few!

What a time to be a classic sci-fi/horror/grindhouse fan!

The Gamera movies aired on Comet usually have the AIP dubs along with the title cards and are obviously not remastered editions.

Comet does now show Criterion's transfers for their Godzilla movies though. But only the ones that they have the dub for, with the exception of G54 which is shown with subtitles.
A few years ago they were able to show Godzilla Raids Again and Godzilla's Revenge but around the time the Criterion set came those disappeared.

The titles would suggest the AIP dubs, but you never know.

Almost the same except my B&N carries 1 Arrow title, which if I recall, was about some stalker going after women. Yeah, that narrows it down, but I can't remember much else about it nor the name. I just remember it was a horror movie because it sounded kind of interesting.
