Actually, going by the specs VVE has given for all of these titles, it's I Married a Monster from Outer Space that seems to be the only one that lists "Optional English subtitles".

Nothing all that exciting, but the Imprint team just loaded this short ad to their instagram

OK, I blinked. While I think it's great that a new premium label is being established, I did not want to start yet another spine-numbered collection. I thought about waiting to see if Paramount might reach an accord with a US company, but if they didn't, I would probably miss out on the discounted limited edition offering from Via Vision. And I still might have resisted, but, damn, that artwork for War of the Worlds is just too evocative.

As an aside, War of the Worlds has a special place in the memory of my youth. Having just turned ten years of age, I first saw it during the summer of 1954 at the small theater that served our farming community. Twice during the performance I had to leave and walk outside to calm myself; I was terrified. Then after it was over, I had to walk three long, dimly lighted blocks to the restaurant where my parents were to pick me up. I would like to say that I was never again so scared, but that experience was surpassed two weeks later when I literally ran the three blocks after seeing Invaders From Mars. Being ten years old was not easy in the fifties.

The upshot of all this is that I ordered the monthly bundle and will probably continue to do so as long as they offer quality titles. I'm hooked. Numbered slipcases and great audio/video (we hope), what's not to love? As I said, I thought about waiting for a stateside release, but these look to be right up my alley and I'm hopeful they will compare favorably to the wonderful Second Sight limited editions. The price came out to $26.78 USD each, including shipping. It's hard for me to imagine these being much, if any, cheaper in the US should Shout/Scream or some other boutique release them; Kino, maybe, but they're not going to match the packaging.

Here's hoping Imprint lives up to the expectations and has an extensive run.

Interested in purchasing all five, but does anybody know if the slipcover limit also applies here as well like if purchasing each title individually?

There’s 1000 - 1500 units each movie, and they’ll be dispensed across individual and bundles.

Well that spells bad news for my wallet
Time to pick it up now for those absolute gorgeous slipcases. It would be awesome if they added a numbered item on the packaging. Why not go all out?

Looking at my order number, it seems that if you're wanting to get the limited edition slipcases, they're pretty much gone.
Now it's very much a hopeful wait to see if my bundle gets the amazing slipcover or comes in the single blu-ray case.

I just checked and their site, and the bundle is still being advertised as coming with the slipcases. If it's indeed sold out, I don't think they should be advertising it as such.

I was assuming that the 1000-1500 limitation was basically for the slipcases, much like Eureka's Masters of Cinema LEs or Arrow's. Obviously, none of us know for sure, but I suspect that when these are sold out, Imprint will release "standard" editions.

I find it very hard to believe they’d be all sold out by now. At least some of these special editions will market in store, I’d imagine. Also — I assume every listing is FOR the limited editions on the website and if they sell out it will say so. I’d imagine new listings, with lower price points and a different SKU would pop up for the non-limited editions further down the track — the same as the other labels do. I wouldn’t think it’s a case of “first 1000 people to get an order in get a slip!”

If they have sold out in the first week then I'd hope they increase their limited edition to 3000 or 5000 units.

I’d hope so too... would be an enormous bummer if they sold out before they even had a chance to hit shelves. But I’m sure the retailers probably have X amount reserved... you’d hope...

I don't care about the numbering or the slipcover I'm just glad that I'm getting the movie (I know right, how weird am I, whilst I love original artwork and a great cover it's no biggie for me if I don't get it, I'm actually more interested in the movie than the slipcover and the numbering... I'm a freak) Call me weird but I actually collect for watching great films in the best possible way regardless whether it has a bloody slipcover or number on the spine.

Nice condescending comment here. Never understood these kinds of comments on... collector boards...

That's ok I guess you never will, but I'm sure you'll get over it. I thought this was a film enthusiast site. I collect films not packaging.

And I’m sure you’ll get over the fact that some people enjoy not only collecting the movies but also Collectables. These are obviously more than just “packaging”. People enjoy the collectability of something like this — they don’t only just enjoy collecting the movies, but essentially owning a small piece of memorabilia of said movie too. To call it mere “packaging” is stubborn, ignorant and condescending — there’s no need for that.

I think that's fine if you're not the collector type for the packaging and the whatnots as there are many different type of film enthusiasts out there. At the end of the day the slipcovers are less important than the movies that are finally coming out of the blu rays.
But on the other hand, as a premium label that is geared towards movie collectors, knowing you get deluxe packaging that is surely the result of a company who's clearly put in the effort to deliver something special and not reproducing the cover, there's an incentive to support it and them.

I caved. I was going to wait to see if a UK label picked it up, but these just look too good. Went for the bundle and am eagerly anticipating whatever else Imprint has coming up.

I am hopeful all 5 will have subtitles (I'd be surprised if not) but not a deal breaker. Booklets would be cool too, but also not a deal breaker. Great to see someone finally break through with Paramount in such a big way.

Lack of subtitles is indeed a dealbreaker. Those Paramount classics will in all likelihood come from other labels rather soon (e.g. Shout/Scream). No premium line should skip on the subs.
