Nobody thinks you're a monster, we're just tired of nothing but extreme cynicism and negativity from the same person on the same subject. Didn't mean to start a big fight though lol.

Oh, if you think this is a big fight, you should have seen the Box Office thread for KOTM on Toho Kingdom.

Trolls who were just hating the film for no reason, obvious lies about the box office, stock photos of celery, that thread was flying off the rails!

You didn't start a fight man. I respect your opinion and wish I got what you have gotten out of the Monsterverse so far.

I wasn't part of that. I was part of the box-office talk for the 2014 film though, I had to. There were people spinning those numbers like crazy.

Not that I ever paid attention to anything a movie critic says, I just use the movie trailers and behind the scenes clips that movie studios generally release as to whether I go to see a movie. It also helps that those involved with the movie have a good track record.

I have seen the original godzilla and enjoyed it very much. I have not seen the many sequels,. i saw the 2014 and 1998 one.. same as the last year movie. my favorite is shin godzilla. it got back into the original spirit of godzilla more so then the other remakes.

Same here, trailers and word of mouth helps me decide on seeing a film at the theater. Use the reviews, members post on here a lot to.

I absolutely agree. The thing is, I never use a single source as a means of whether I'll go and see a movie. Franchise films that I already enjoy already determine whether I'll go and see them. James Bond, Fast and Furious, Godzilla, Underworld, Resident Evil are just examples of franchises I'll go and see without any outside input.

You troll threads incessantly with short posts consisting of one or two sentences, unreasonably declaring how awful something is. So maybe stop doing that and you can actually have a conversation with someone.

You're not a monster, and you have a every right to post your opinion as does any other member.

Not to put too fine a point on it, as long as another member of the community is commenting about a film, and not commenting about other members of the community, that's their right, whether you agree or disagree with their opinion.

If you are no longer interested in reading their opinions, simply press ignore.

Default Have A Bad Feeling About This

Absolutely. Legendary made an excellent decision in hiring Edwards, and even if the 2014 film could have provided more monster vs. monster action, it was still a very good start and very entertaining.

But, certain fans made a very vocal issue about the lack of action, which we have an example of in this thread, and set the ball in motion to where we are now.

Just an opinion, but KOTM was a debacle. It was by far the worst film I screened in 2019, and I'm being generous with calling it a movie. A show reel would be more accurate.

I've got a bad feeling about GvK that we haven't hit bottom yet.

Also going forward when a member posts Spoilers and it's tagged, kindly discuss it also in tags so as to not ruin it for others, regardless of whether or not someone likes, or hates it. Tag it.

It's certainly not worth getting banned over cause the mods keep getting complaints over, and over about the same thing.

Hot Take:

Godzilla 2014 is fantastic
Kong: Skull Island is fantastic
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is fantastic

Bring on Godzilla vs Kong.

Agree, all 3 movies were wonderful. The monster designs have been spectacular (especially in King of the monsters) and all 3 movies brought something different to the table. For a giant monster fan like myself, these movies have been a dream come true. They also all have incredible special effects, which is so important in these kind of movies. I also can't rank the movies, I like them all for different reasons. I've been trying to, believe me.

The Godzilla 2014 has the best acting (Cranston and Binoche give the best performances out of all 3 movies) and the single greatest fight with the best kill at the end. Skull Island is probably the best movie and the most exciting one but no matter how much I love it and love Kong, i'll always slightly prefer the big G. As for King of the monsters, it has godawful human characters and i'll admit to not being huge on the whole color correction of the movie (everything is now yellow! And now blue!) but my God did they nail Godzilla and friends. The best monster designs of the monsterverse, the best mythology (it made the whole Monsterverse so much more awesome) but also all the monsters are so well developped. They ARE the main characters in the movie and they work so well. Plus, the soundtrack is sublime.

I can't see a world in which I wouldn't enjoy a movie like Godzilla vs Kong. My excitement is through the roof but these delays are starting to annoy me. With Bond coming out 5 days after, my guess is WB will delay Godzilla vs Kong once more (maybe next Mars? That would be smart, imo). Because if not, the movie will take a huge hit. At this point i've made my peace with it being the last movie and honestly, that's ok. I never thought i'd live in a world in which Hollywood would have release four 200 millions dollars Kaiju masterpieces, with the last movie being a fight between the two greatest giant monsters of all time. So yeah, i'm still happy.

Edit: Also, what a time to be a giant monster fan! A decade and a half ago, we only had Cloverfield and The Host, but since then, we've had two Pacific Rim, soon to be 4 monsterver movies, a full Godzilla anime trilogy!, Monsters, Colossal, The Meg, Rampage, Shin Godzilla, Underwater! On top of that, we've been getting so many blu ray releases, with the entire Ultraman series coming out by Mill Creek, Criterion releasing in one box set all the Showa Godzilla, Gorgo, Mothra, soon Arrow releasing all the Gamera movies. As a monster fan, this is insane. Also, I am so glad i'm not one of those "fans" who hate everything. As a monster fan, I am in such a good place, able to appreciate everything coming out.
Out of all of those movies, the only two i didn't love were Pac Rim 2 and Rampage and even there I had fun. :P
