Awwwe now Woman 84' is not going to be 3D. They need to let it finish. If its done, show it. Sell it. Appreciate art. Don't let it die in some vault or get deleted.

3D is a grand illusion. To every great illusion there are 3 things.

The pledge- this movies trailer says 3D
The turn- They turn the movie into a reality
The Prestige- It gets a 3D conversion

I want the prestige.

Where did you find that info? Are you talking the theatrical film release? I'm not seeing any signs of it not being released in 3-D.

This. DNEG says on their site that it's in production.

I wonder what Bond getting cancelled means for 3D? Could it be that films pencilled in for 3D are delayed several months and end up not getting 3D releases at all?

As far as I’m aware, the posters/trailers have said nothing about it being in 3D. Some releases hold off on advertising 3D until later marketing or don’t advertise it much at all (particularly as 3D% of box office has dropped in recent years) so it could be that, but it’s also never been confirmed to be in 3D so it might just have always been a 2D only release, or could be overseas only.

Are you referring to Wonder Woman 1984?

Warner Bros. has already publicly announced that it will be in 3D.

It would be great if that is confirmed. I got a bit skeptical when the trailer just mentioned IMAX and Dolby Cinema at the end

If you go to Warn Bros official YouTube channel, and bring up the official trailer,
you can then scroll down to the video description area (click on SHOW MORE), and you will see mention of 3D.

Yeah, I don’t think WW1984 being in 3D is in question. It will be:

The last trailer I saw for WW1984 (in the UK, before Birds of Prey) definitely ended with a 3D logo (can't remember whether it was RealD 3D, IMAX 3D or both, but I think just the former). My local cinema still has it as an upcoming 3D release.

The next theatrical 3D release is, I believe, Onward, which is out in a few days' time. Fewer 3D showings than Frozen 2 in my area, but still enough that I should get a chance to see it in 3D.

Yeah, see I jumped to conclusions. The trailers did not show 3D only suggesting IMax.Black Widow, Morbius too, no mention of 3D at the end.

I saw the Black Widow trailer play in 3D with Star Wars, and pretty sure I saw a poster mention 3D for it somewhere.

But it is getting very frustrating with the lack of even a simple Real D 3D logo on recent advertising to tell what’s going to be in 3D (I noted no 3D mentioned for Morbius so don’t know about the format there). You almost have to wait until tickets go on sale now (and there is even Hobbs & Shaw where I think 3D tickets went on sale, only for Universal to decide to keep 3D overseas only, but that’s an unusual case).

Anyway, Onward this week I believe is our first 3D release of 2020. I’m going to see The Way Back on Friday since the theater I will be at then is showing Onward in 2D, in order to hopefully see it in 3D in the next few days. And then assuming there isn’t a change with Coronavirus, Mulan in 3D at the end of the month which I’m particularly looking forward to.

You can't go by trailers anymore. A 3D conversion is no longer a selling point for a film.

Would Morbius be the start of Marvels new production plan? That being the first Marvel feature not in 3D.

The last few 3D movies were so strong. Feels like they are going out with a bang. PT Barnum it..This way to the Great Eggress!

Morbius is made by Sony not Disney. Yeah Sony been cutting back on 3d disc releases. How do you know it's not in 3d nothing is confirmed yet?

https://deadline.com/2020/03/onward-...an-1202876016/

3D was just 7% of Onward’s domestic opening day. I think that might be the lowest 3D% seen for a major release, there definitely have been a bunch below 20% recently and I recall Dumbo was 12% or 13% (mention as very soft at the time), but this is the first one I can think of where 3D is in the single digits.

I would certainly suggest people try and see that, or other 3D releases in the next few months, in order to support the format as clearly the format is in a critical time with 3D showings and releases decreasing every year now. I want 3D to remain an option with the right films, but I understand movies are a business, and on a practical side if I worked in a high level industry position and saw numbers like that, I would question justifying the effort and expense to give movies 3D releases.

We just sold the first tickets today since thursday opening night. 12 people came in to see a show at 3pm vs 50+ on the 2D at 2:30pm showing. Definitely its not looking good.

It has been a while, but Captain Marvel 3D was supposedly a billion dollar movie. I went with family to see opening weekend Saturday night 6.00pm. Figure get home around 9. Niece loved it. Yeah, there were 5-6 families in the theater. Empty. Billion dollar movie.
