Amazon is pretty good about it also.
I remember seeing a deal on John Wick 3. It said, buy UHD for $7.99.
I assumed I was buying the UHD 4k Blu-Ray.
They refunded it right away but I never started watching.

Vudu is awful about this, they don't reply for weeks sometimes and they refuse if the movie has been started in any capacity.
It's incredibly easy to request a refund for almost any reason, and Apple is very accommodating. They've never denied any of my refund requests.

Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose "Request a refund" from the drop-down menu. Easy.

Is there a particular option you need to choose out of the reasons, or a certain thing it would be wise to say?

No not really. I have just explained the truth and once I think it was just a bot. Every time immediate refund.

You can do it through the iTunes app on your iPhone. It’s easy.

its never a good idea to extrapolate an experience into a blanket statement about the wonderfulness of a corporation.
All refunds inside a certain period are automatic if you select the correct option but when it becomes a conversation it can go both ways.
Ive had a success, but also complete intransigence when a price dropped in a sale a few weeks later
CS can also be less helpful in explaining downgrades or when a new version comes out in 4K instead of upgrading, and so on.

Don't get too used to it. I have been given a refund 5 times and now every refund request gets bounced.

For sure, I meant which do you choose out of the preselected reasons ("I changed my mind/accidental purchase/unauthorized charge") etc.

So I've noticed that the director's cut of 'Midsommar' is actually only 1080p, whereas the theatrical version is indeed 4K.

If this is known news, then disregard.

But I was under the impression the DC was in 4K/HDR.

It’s been this way since release.

I figured as much. I'm new to owning the Apple TV since its release, as my wife got it a week ago. So I wasn't sure what 'Midsommar' director cut was classified as. For some reason, I kept thinking it was still UHD/HDR since it's exclusive to Apple.

The theatrical presentation looks fantastic, though. Much better than the standard Blu.

Which ones? Not iTunes or Vudu (unless I'm mistaken), I don't really use the others.

It is available on ONE platform. MoviesAnywhere is the only digital retailer that includes it as an extra.

Turns out that the Christopher Nolan movies are cropped on iTunes because Nolan wants one aspect ratio on digital and Apple are respecting his decision. Makes you wonder why he allows shifting aspect ratio on physical media.

It is a bit crazy as when TDK first came to iTunes it had a shifting aspect ratio until Apple received complaints about it then for whatever reason it was replaced with the non switching version.
Cover all bases I say and have the IMAX version as an iTunes Extra.

The worst one is Dunkirk. Most of the movie was shot in IMAX.

It could be iTunes making excuses but they claim this is Nolan's wishes. You could call bs because I definitely remember TDK having shifting ratios on first release.

It would be better to give the user the option of turning in off shifting aspect ratio in the settings. That is a reason to buy physical media for Nolan movies because the IMAX scenes are untouched.

I received a reply from WB regarding this. They confirmed it was Nolan's intention for the digital copies not to have the IMAX scenes for Dunkirk.
