I don't think we have any way of knowing. As one of the members in the Criterion Now Facebook group posted when seeking a replacement case got the following email from Criterion:

Quote:
In order to be conscientious citizens and to reduce/delay the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the bulk of the Criterion staff is going to be working remotely.
This means that our replacement packaging program (processed manually from our NY office) has to be temporarily put on hold and the elements you requested will not be processed in the timeline previously provided.”
IDK if that will affect announcements or not. We'll find out tomorrow. If announcements are delayed then that's understandable.

I would assume that the announcements are something that could be done remotely.

I was just mentioning the possibility. Depends, I guess if they have the infrastructure for their workers to do be able to do it from home. As I said, we'll find out tomorrow.

I’m predicting we get a noon title announcement today and one of the 4 box sets!

They know we need some good news!

All I want to see from announcements is Come and See. I’ll take whatever though. I’m sure they’ll have at least one title I want regardless. I just need some distractions and things to get excited over.

Hoping to hear about at least one of these from the next announcement:

Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Come and See
The Mirror (no evidence on this one, I just hope they release it at some point)

I wouldn’t count on Portrait of a Lady on Fire or Parasite announced until for later In the year or even next year—especially since creating supplements might be put on hold for a bit and Portrait is still in cinemas

But it's leaving my area and I'm having withdrawals

You're likely right though. I expect it to be towards the end of the year, but we should see it in 2020 as that's what the NEON announcement said. Although, that may change given CV19's impact.

I really hope they upgrade the Human Condition trilogy finally. I've always been surprised they didn't release it before Arrow did.

Here's one OOP Twilight Time title I thought of possibly being a future Criterion release: the 1955 romantic drama LOVE IS A MANY-SPLENDORED THING, starring William Holden and Jennifer Jones.
