That's not strange at all, no 1080p is the most common problem with long cable runs.

Default online cable store

I would like to share my experience on a website I came across, A.A Electronics Worldwide. I purchased three 6 feet hdmi cables from this store, for 6.89$ each (canadian dollars). I agree their prices are a little higher than monoprices, but I got them within 3 days of the purchase. I rather buy canadian and have a tracking number that comes with it.

Overall the site is quite good if you live and canada and want your products faster with a tracking number.

visit it : www.aaelectronicsw.com

I think you missed the point. There are plenty of high-quality cables, but in this case it's inferred that the 21 Gbps bandwidth it's rated to is the selling point. It has nothing to do with Monster, it would be the same conclusion anyone should draw whether the cable came from Monoprice, Blue Jeans or Nordost or any other cable manufacturer.

Most people will not care about the difference, but that doesn't mean there is no difference, that's just a parsimonious myth.
Actually where 1080p24 performance is concerned there is no difference, that's not a myth, it's a reality.

Yeah, but that's not what you said. You said there was no reason to even consider buying that cable.

Also, I never said anything about 1080/24p figuring into the difference, that's you imposing your own parameters and definitions onto something that I said, like always.

As usual, you're always right, even when you're wrong, and apparently you always have the privilege of defining both sides of an argument. Why bother even discussing anything when you're just going to decide what the other person is saying, even when it's not what they're saying at all?

The subject of the cables (and selling point) was the bandwidth. How much more plain can that be? You took off on a dramatic diatribe about not bashing Monster which was totally irrelevant. But, play the victim as usual.

No, unless you have a very long HDMI run over 25-feet in length. It has been shown in real world practice that virtually all HDMI cables are equally effective at under 10-feet in length.

The other posters are right that the cable makes no difference, but are you having a PQ problem in reality? Tell us what that is, and I bet they come up with some solutions for you about the settings to use, etc.

You're so eager to blurt out "don't buy Monster" that you didn't even stop to consider that he might not be using HDMI1.3a... If it's a generic cable that doesn't meet 1.3a specs (such as one that comes with the player, or something like that), he may very well need a better cable. You have one-track minds.

Tell me the name of the store you visited because I will drive over there and stick a Monster HDMI cable so far down their throats that they're gonna crap thunder for a year.

One thing that you (the OP) might like is monoprice.com lets you get HDMI cables in different colors. I kind of liked that option.

Also, monoprice is cheap enough that I usually order a couple extra of everything when I place my order. My inlaws got a HDTV and were on their way to BestBuy to buy a 6ft HDMI and I just gave them one of my extras. Cost me around $3 or $4, saved them $40+ and a trip to BestBuy.

Totally. You actually get a better value when you do that. Monoprice rules, that's for sure. My brother and sister in-law somehow misplaced an HDMI cable and were all stressed about having to buy a new one (because they don't know about monoprice.com) and I was just like "here, take one of my extras." They were in awe that I'd just give them one, but of course when all you know is what Best Buy or Circuit City tells you, it's natural.
