Bill Barnwell wrote an excellent piece on this entire Rams debacle and what led them to this point. One of the biggest contributors was something they could have easily avoided: issuing massive contracts in year 3 of rookie deals. Of the 5 or 6 they did only Goff is around and he’s not exactly setting the world on fire.

But no need to worry, 2017 Coach of the Year: Sean McVay should easily have them contending no matter what players he has on the roster.

That Goff contract is one of the worst given to a QB in a recent years, maybe THE worst. He's a slightly better version of Trubisky. At least Chicago didn't make that mistake, but I guess they never had a reason to.

Same type of player, the type that will end up on the wrong side of a highlight reel. For $4 million he's serviceable so it's a good pickup.

It will be a very interesting season, i wish Tom nothing but the best of luck in Tampa and will be rooting for him.
