Hmmm. Never heard of anyone filming out an interpositive before, and it's fairly common knowledge amongst SW geeks that the negative for SW was disassembled for the mid '90s restoration and then cut back together as the 1997 SE, I highly doubt that they've continued to re-edit the negative for each version that has gone past as these negatives can only take so much handling, especially if they're digitally re-assembling all the VFX from the OG elements and then doing filmouts of the newly conformed versions anyway, i.e. there's no reason to physically alter the negative any more.

I think Bill's confused with the "peak brightness is 1000 nits" thing too, as that's probably what the mastering display level metadata is reading - as per most Disnee/Fox discs - but that's no guarantee that the content actually reaches those levels. Bless 'im.

Methinks you'll be waiting a while, if it's anything other than plain old SD I'd be verr surprised.

It's GREAT to see those 360-turnarounds from the 2011 Blu special features included though, I rebought those two discs a few weeks ago on the 'bay because I thought this release wouldn't carry that stuff over.

Shame they didn't include the trailers and whatnot though, this would've been a great time to retransfer them in HD and present them as such.

There also isn't the Deleted Scenes Documentary. None of the PT bonus discs even have the webisodes that came out in preparation for their original releases.

Yeah, those webisodes and other little digital bits and bobs have never been carried over to anything outside of the DVDs.

It’s going to be very interesting to see how the current situation affects sales of expensive box sets like this one...really on Blu-ray sales in general over the next couple of months.

Maybe it’ll have little to no impact at all and those who planned on getting it before will still get bit...and vice versa.

But I suspect that given what some view as the flaws in the set and the economic outlook for the near future and the inability to look at it in person before buying, there maybe some folks who decide to pull back.

And for anyone who was on the fence before coronavirus, this can’t help.

...lots of variables now.
