[Show spoiler] nope. A clone of him is her father. He merely calls himself grandfather but she would have been conceived after the events of ROTJ. All of this is of course not clear in TROS - lol. But that’s the truth of it from subsequently released canon explanation in the novelisation. They could easily have explained it in the movie. Oh well.

had that not happened pretty good chance that Return would have still been called Revenge of the Jedi lol.

I was making charts and graphs about how to acquire these movies and in the end I just decided to get this boxset. I want it!

What's with these ridiculous individual prices? I looked up Rogue One 4K and it's $39.99! That's what? £35. I won't be importing that anytime soon.

Yeah it’s obvious he was shoehorned in at the last second.

So, I'm deciding on waiting, or braving places like Wal-Mart or Target on release day.

I'm considering doing the individuals via Disney Movie Club now. I don't really want or need any of the free movies they are offering now and doing the whole club thing doesn't appeal to me.

2 questions.

1. How much are the individual releases on DMC right now? Do they have all of them?

2. Do they always ship with slips and do they typically show up in great shape?

Just trying to decide what to do here. Thanks.
When I ordered the Star Wars singles the promotion was buy one at regular price ($34.95 CDN) and all others after that 50% off ($17.48). There was shipping and taxes but overall I averaged about $20 - $21 per title as compared to Amazon or Best Buy which would have been close to $40 per title.

I have always got slips with mine and never had any issues with damage.

My Star Wars titles have shipped but I likely won't get them until next week.

DMC appears to be the best way to get these titles right now.

The individual 4K releases are currently $20.97 member's price.

Every DMC order I have had arrived in a sturdy corrugated mailer. All the slips have been in mint condition.

Tough decision to make... I still have the box set on pre-order but I know I want the Target exclusive of TROS for the bonus disc, even though I wasn't that crazy about the movie. So $249.99 + 34.99 + 29.99 for Rogue One comes out to 314.97.

If I go with the individuals instead then I would actually save money... 29.99 × 8 + 34.99 = 274.91.

Not sure if the box is worth that extra money, even if it does look cool...

What about if we aren't DMC members? What is the commitment you make when you join? Would I end up spending more in the long run just to these cheaper now?

1) Undiscounted -- $35 ea for the older 9 titles though virtually nobody buys DMC items without using one of their discounts. ROS is currently 29.95 and ineligible for extra discounts (without a bit of help) though it appears ROS may be $32 once it is discount eligible and full price. They have all of them for preorder.

Using the best deal ONCE you are a full fledged member, in theory you could net all 10 4K items for $160+tax (neglecting that many people already seem to have SW8 so subtract $14). At this point getting them on release day is not going to happen

2) Slips nearly always come on new release items, but even that's not 100% guarantee and the older an item is the less likely (though I've gotten slips on some items years after release). Pretty much like anybody that ships slipcovers are a vulnerable, optional, non priority at the front end so preshipping and trans-shipping chances of dents/dings/tears/etc are always a possibility.

Not if you do it correctly at least on the US side and aren't planning on throwing the NonSW away, the Canadian site is substantially less of a deal. Go to the deals section and read the DMC Main thread -- at least post 1 and 2 a few times. A lot depends on if you have any interest at all in Non SW, Non 4K items or interest in selling the initial batch on.

The cheapest you could get through the US club initial enrollment/required commitment/ then buy up with all 10 SW 4K titles would be around $210-225. All this discounts those states that pay sales tax
1) 6 non SW/non 4K at signup (5 for $1 and 1st commitment for 11.95) for $13 with 2 required purchases at a minimum of 19.95ea (hard to do at the 19.95 level, but not impossible though most people end up with two 24.95 items instead)
2) Wait for a "Buy 1 Get 60% off the Rest" offer -- 10 SW 4K titles for approx $161 ($35 + 9*14)

If you need and want those 1st 6-8 non 4K titles like most of the Exclusives (20000 Leagues, Romney Marsh, Swiss Family Rob, Mighty Ducks, Saludos Amigos, etc) then it's a double win. If you have zero interest in those initial items and just buy items for resale then it's not hard to make a small profit on those even without a lot of effort and still selling well below list price, then fold that bit into the savings of the Star Wars

I noticed the colors being different on that movie, too. Particularly with the reds.

I received a shipping notification for my DMC order on Friday, but tracking says it hasn't even left the receiving post office. Was hoping to get them soon.

I was actually fine with him coming into it. It was just the execution of it. It would have only taken a scene. The first time I saw it, the lack of explanation weighed heavily on my mind as I enjoyed the movie. Now we have one (even if it’s not actually in the film) it will become more tolerable as time goes by.

[Show spoiler] I’ll be honest....the fleet of star destroyers with Death Star capabilities, let alone how they were made out of nowhere, bothered me more.

I decided to order the individuals thru Amazon says April 13th but hopefully get sooner!, had a gift card credit so that helped me make up my mind.

I did have to order the new one thru Walmart tho cause it was not available for preorder on Amazon not sure why?

Oh. There was an explanation. Just not in the film. Which is the annoying aspect.

Like they expect me to read a damn Visual Dictionary

You actually have to read the visual dictionary and the expanded novelization to get everything. Or read a site like io9's summary like I did.
