If memory serves me correctly, the majority if not all of the Paramount UHD titles have had DV:

Jack Ryan set
Mission Impossible Set
Grease
Saving Private Ryan
Forrest Gump
Braveheart
etc.

So I would not be surprised if this would be DV as well.

That is a great standard cover BTW! I am glad I am a Cruise fan because his movies seem to be very popular for UHD release

It says Dolby Vision on the 4K disc in the steelbook picture.

I don't usually care all that much, but I think it's going a little far (for me) to say that I'll NEVER look at the artwork. If anything, I find it doubly disheartening that this error was made on a cover where they were at least attempting some actual original art for a change. Ordinarily, I'd love to support that idea. Just sucks it happened on a detail of a film that matters so much to me.

Having a hard time deciding whether to go for the Steelbook or regular 4K release. Leaning towards the Steel.

You're better off just going to a Wal-Mart. BB's shipping hasn't exactly been on point either lately.

I mean, even Cloverfield of all things was apparently mastered with Dolby Vision (the film was partially shot with a high-end Panasonic camcorder), so anything is possible.

Well at least people can't touch the actual movie with their grubby hands!

I could careless about the artwork. I go to Best Buy day of to get the best looking slip and then throw away the slip and case just out of spite. All 400 of my UHDs are in HIPCE lockers from Container Store.

Hope we will be getting this in the UK as well as all the other Cruise UHDs, Jaws, The Blues Brothers and The Goonies. The 4K pre-orders have come grinding to a halt over the past two months.

First of all, I think you mean to say you *couldn’t* care less. Secondly, if you don’t care about the artwork / packaging (and are jerky enough to deny a perfect slip to someone who does), then you wouldn’t be interested in the steelbook in the first place. But thanks for chiming in, I guess.

If I get this, I'll skip the steelbook, the standard 4K looks more like the original artwork and poster. If it stays at $22.99 that's a pretty good price.

Their first UHDs Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness and Star Trek Beyond did not have DV. Basically if it came out in late 2016 or up to mid-2017, like TMNT: Out of the Shadows it doesn't have DV.

Their first DV release was Transformers: The Last Knight when they got the new authoring software. It's highly unlikely they're doing to downgrade their software to something non-DV anytime soon. They're not Disney, trying to force their audience to streaming.

also Paramount's Dolby Atmos remixes sound infinitely superior to the mixes Disney Home Video culls.

Yeah, if any new Paramount UHD release didn't have DV (catalogue or new movie) from here on out I'd be very surprised.
