Are you referring to 'The Three Stooges' 3D or different?

What different Pardon My Backfire is there, other than the one starring The Three Stooges?

I was worried as from the liner notes it sounds like the presentation is no longer as intended by the filmmakers...

There were several challenges to overcome...The original film put the horizon of the lander imagery at screen depth, with the landscape coming "out" of the screen. This is contrary to current practice, where scene elements not wholly visible should appear "behind" the screen.

...but the landscape did extend out of the screen so I was happy enough.
MARS IN 3-D (1979 Viking dual 16mm 3-D restoration) was a fascinating re-watch for me, as the first time I had seen in was in red/cyan anaglyphic form on laserdisc back in the late 1980s. It was in the CAV format so one could do perfect still frames. Using that we paused the disc and tried to adjust the color on the monitor to cancel out better, but NTSC color, even with laserdisc, was a compromised system and certainly no friend of anaglyph 3-D. Seeing this in the superior 3-D bluray format was a night and day difference over the old 12" laserdisc.

The Viking mission had the left and right cameras set .08 meters apart, providing an IA just over 3 inches with no original toe-in or convergence adjustment. This was great for scientific study such as terrain mapping, but not so much for watching in it's raw form. It looks like some tweaking was done, but in this particular instance for the better. Even with adjustments, watching the exaggerated stereoscopic martian landscapes can challenging at times, while in the same instance if this makes sense, be rewarding as well. Thankfully the 3-D footage shot on good ol' planet Earth by JPL of the Viking lander has a far more comfortable 3-D interaxial.

NASA recognized the need to save this deteriorating dual 16mm presentation and in 2009 digitized several 16mm reels (what exact elements those were is unknown) and if I recall correctly made a new 5.1 mix based on the original matrixed quadraphonic electronic music score.

I have this on Blu-ray and haven’t upgraded because of the negative reviews that the 3D doesn’t offer much what do you think?

Just watched "Gun Fury" which I received today from TT. Good but not great western with good 3D and fairly good picture quality. There's an awful lot of pretty good day-for-night sequences but I wish more had been in daylight for the stunning scenery. Mono sound is good. The included Isolated Score track sounds mono as well and seems stronger in the film itself. Performances are by-the-book and it's good to see great character actors at work including one who became a big star a decade later, Lee Marvin.

There is a spot-on review by "Acela" on this website as part of the "Gun Fury" page. The review mentions the "sync" problems that occur on some players and not on others. I had no problem with this. Good 3D entertainment that I think I saw as a kid upon its release. Recommended.

The pop-outs are listed on the Index of pop-outs by 3D movie with time stamps thread.

We're on day two of the COVID-19 lockdown here in NZ and I've started (re)watching my 3-D collection. First off the block was this beauty:

Solid 3-D presentation, great depth to many of the shots and several pop-outs to amuse. The overall presentation is very colourful and the whole thing hums along at a good pace with some witty dialogue too. I guess by now all of you have this in your collection, but if not then grab a copy and enjoy!

With nearly four weeks to go (and the possibility the lockdown might be extended) you might be very bored of me soon!

I don't know you well enough to say. It isn't real strong looking but I think most of that is due to the huge wide spaces and fogginess of the world. I see you have a projector and that definitely helps. I have my screen at about 12 foot wide and sit 12 foot back. There are around 20 noticeable pop-outs and the depth is natural looking to me. The other factor is that most versions are now expensive and importing is more strict now. I saw some 'made on demand' versions on ebay at around 25 dollars but I can't say if those are pressed or burnt. Another factor is how often do you think you would watch it since I assume you've watched your copy at least once. Also, and I know this is probably meaningless, but it did win an award.

Yeah, such a short time ago there were the bins at walmart and Walgeens that had movies to dig through. I got 3-4 titles cheap. The clearance clearance clearance bin was $4.99 and under.

All those bins were gone, and you need 6 feet in between customers for social distancing and reduced hours.

I am kicking myself I did not grab a couple more.

COVID-19 Day 3 - and time for The Mummy!

Daft but fun film, with plenty of action and an effective 3-D conversion. The overall image is a tad muted and a bit dark but is still very watchable. Stand-out set pieces galore including killer birds and a thrilling plane crash sequence. It's not a demo-worthy 3-D experience but preferable to watching flat - even if the last act dials-down the 3-D a bit. I'm glad to have this in my collection and whatever you may think of Mr.Cruise, he certainly gives us all he's got (and of course Sofia Boutella is always easy on the eye).

Watched Shazam which was the last disc I borrowed from the library before they closed indefinitely. Some nice 3d in this one especially the flying scenes. As for movie itself still one of the best DCEU so far.

Watched Iron Man 3 last night. Some very nice 3d in this one. Not sure why so many people said it was weak and flat.
