Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi has often been said to be one the BEST casting choices in ALL of Star Wars, and he has worked REALLY hard to make sure his performance is as close to the spirit of Alec Guinness as he could.

I'm serious. There's no way people enjoy them as much as they say they do.
That’s BS.

The Lucas six are the story, warts and all. I throughly enjoy the Prequel Trilogy. Saw Episode I 15 times that summer. Saw Episode II 16 times three summers later. Saw Episode III 8 times three summers after that. And I’m no millennial. I was born in ‘78. I grew up on the Original Trilogy.

The story of the Prequels, both in front and behind the camera, is a fantastic story into that era of filmmaking that ushered in what we see basically every day now in cinema.

We're much more forgiving of things we loved as kids or teenagers.

I still have a nostalgia for phantom menace, the hype, the excitement of new star wars. The first five minutes still returns to me those wonderful emotions every time I decide to punish myself by watching the whole movie.

Also the things we loved as kids, we realize were much terrible when we're adults watching them.

No, you would see me with a big smile on my face just enjoying and reliving those moments.

And btw: no phones allowed here while watching any movie, period.

Watching TROS was PAINFUL last night. Just stuff happening and no emotional connection to any of it. TFA was familiar but fine and then the ST took a nosedive.

You need to realize that plenty of people enjoy the PT as much as you enjoy the ST

Lucas pushed his tech and it did indeed change cinema going forward. Not always for the better but sure, it had its effect.

So when jar jar comes around, you don't cringe and want to hide your face? Really?

It is a bold statement. Anyone who says they love anakin's "yipeee" kid performance is also making a bold statement.

Can we just leave it at people like different things? These arguments are so dumb.

It feels like these arguments are degenerating us into elementary school students. Apparently, Star Wars really DOES bring out the child in all of us.

I'll deal with it as opposed to Rose, Mas, Poe's girl, Finn's girl, Snoke, Hux, Holdo, etc...

Jar Jar sucks but there is nothing of note to the characters I listed above.

I don't really have a problem with that in particular and I'm talking about loving the PT movies in general. Padme and Anakin's love affair scenes in AOTC? Sure, not exactly Oscar material but again, I don't really have a problem with it. Though in all honesty, Jar Jar in TPM took some time "to accept" but even then, it would take much more for me to be able to hate that movie. Now the Sequel Trilogy on the other hand...

When my Skywalker Saga 4K Box Set + Rogue One arrives Friday (hopefully )
....my plan is to move the 4K discs to my Steelbooks for easy access.

Lower shelf is 3D's (+4K steel for Solo)
3D Steelbook for TROS is on order from Zavvi (ships Apr.20)

I still don't understand why Attack of the Clones is the only Blu-Ray steelbook to not have a villain on the cover. Why couldn't it have been Count Dooku?

Yes I have. At my size TV, with higher bitrates off physical media, I felt the picture was more consistent, reliable and did not have any artificates/issues that come along with streaming that much data. The average person would probably be happy streaming on Disney+ but for a film like this, and other classics I adore, I like having the higher bitrates being played from a physical medium. Streaming might catch up in the next few years as they find ways to download the data and store it to be played, but still, you are talking about GB's worth of data to be displayed and read so efficiently. Streaming is great, but I will still take a physical media for something I love. To each their own.

Likeness rights, all the others they have the rights to and don't have to pay anyone.
