Hopefully they don’t pull crap like that in NYC.

I say people have all the time they need to come up with conspiracy theories now. Everyone is mostly locked inside.

Party at my place!
I'm "sick" of being cooped up!
I gots chips, soda, popcorn, 10,000 movies & tv shows and video game systems!

Only requirement is that you better not be sick!

It's still kind of interesting to me how routinely I've gone out and made frivolous purchases in the past whereas over the last few weeks we've really only gone out for the basic essentials like food we can cook at home. We rarely have gotten take out food even though there are tons of places within walking distance. I can kind of see the appeal of minimalism.
Yup, I know exactly what you mean. Shortly before all this went down I had been reflecting quite a bit on collections and possessions of mine. Just realized how much shit I have that I don't need. Given the current situation I've limited purchases only to things I need, and it's been quite liberating.

Considering we have no Wal-Marts and few Targets (but we do have several K-Marts), I'm not sure what he (or you) are talking about. Source?

China Chases Indonesia’s Fishing Fleets, Staking Claim to Sea’s Riches

One word comes to mind... parasite.

Quote:
NATUNA ISLANDS, Indonesia — Dedi knows where the fish run strongest in Indonesian waters off the Natuna islands. The Chinese know, too.

Backed by armed Chinese Coast Guard ships, Chinese fishing fleets have been raiding the rich waters of the South China Sea that are internationally recognized as exclusively Indonesia’s to fish.

While Mr. Dedi catches the traditional way, with nets and lines, the steel Chinese trawlers scrape the bottom of the sea, destroying other marine life. So not only does the Chinese trawling breach maritime borders, it also leaves a lifeless seascape in its wake.

A choir decided to go ahead with rehearsal. Now dozens of members have COVID-19 and two are dead

https://www.latimes.com/world-nation...choir-outbreak

Jamie Lloyd-Smith, a UCLA infectious disease researcher, said it’s possible that the forceful breathing action of singing dispersed viral particles in the church room that were widely inhaled.

“One could imagine that really trying to project your voice would also project more droplets and aerosols,” he said.

Linsey Marr, an environmental engineer at Virginia Tech and an expert on airborne transmission of viruses, said some people happen to be especially good at exhaling fine material, producing 1,000 times more than others.

More than 1,000 in US die in a single day from coronavirus, doubling the worst daily death toll of the flu

Quote:
The U.S. topped 1,000 coronavirus deaths in a single day for the first time Wednesday, a daily death toll more than double that of two of America's most deadly illnesses – lung cancer and the flu.

Italy's Coronavirus Death Toll Is Far Higher Than Reported

Quote:
MILAN–—In the town of Coccaglio, an hour’s drive east of here, the local nursing home lost over a third of its residents in March. None of the 24 people who died there were tested for the new coronavirus. Nor were the 38 people who died in another nursing home in the nearby town of Lodi.

These aren’t isolated incidents. Italy’s official death toll from the virus stands at 13,155, the most of any country in the world. But that number tells only part of the story because many people who die from the virus don’t make it to the hospital and are never tested.
