Default Will you be fine if movies are never made again?

Who knows how this Coronavirus will change things or continue on.

But I would be fine if movies were never made again, as big as a fan as I am, because there is an infinite amount of older movies from the past 120 years to watch - not even enough time to see all the amazing films from the past in one lifetime.

Would you be okay or not okay with the end of new films being produced?

Nah, I need new stuff. I can only re-watch movies every so often. Then again, there are plenty of older films I still need to watch.

No, because that’s the business I’m working in and working towards trying to direct my own movies.

I'd be fine. Almost all the movies I watch are already several years or decades old, and I watch seven to nine a week.

No. I love older movies but I need newer ones. I can only watch the same movie so many times.

Why wouldn't movies be made again due to Covid-19? Maybe if there's a worldwide nuclear Holocaust or if an asteroid hits the Earth, but the pandemic will eventually pass.

I'd survive. I would miss comic and horror movies though.

What an asinine question. I would be HEARTBROKEN if I could never see a new movie in a proper theater.

No, wouldn’t be fine, but I’m not under the belief that it’s a valid concern from this particular pandemic. We will persevere.

What is a "movie"?
Do made-for-TV movies count?
Do direct to disc/digital movies count?
What about Netflix/Hulu/Disney+/AppleTV?

Without theatrical movies, there will never be enough sales to produce multi-hundred-million dollar blockbusters. An entire category of movies will be lost.

Even my decent home setup of a 100" inch projected screen, Atmos 5.1.2, dedicated room, and comfy recliners, there is still something about seeing a movie on the big screen, away from the distractions of home. Going to the movies, at least to me, is still an event.

I could live in an environment where new "movies" are shown on Netflix and other streaming services, but there is still a social aspect of new movies in the theater where people can come together and become excited about the same movie. Who really gets excited about the next Netflix movie?

Plays have survived thousands of years, countless wars, endless struggles, and numerous pandemics.

From campfire tales to elaborate, multi-milliion dollar events.

Movies, plays, and music will always be needed. They may take a break or they may change to fit the current situation.

Late night TV and news went from studios to the anchors in ther homes. Comedians and entertainers are using TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram to deliver new content.

No way. I need new films to remind me of why older movies were so good.

Yes. There are an infinite amount of older films I haven't seen, and I don't get excited by most new films anymore. It's a combination of seeing a ton of movies in my life (everything new reminds me of something old), plus a near-death experience in 2014 has put things in perspective for me. Losing my sister and her husband to a drunk driver this past October really hammered that point home.

I'll always love movies, but there are other things that are far more important.

I would not be fine not being able to see a movie in a theater, but I could survive. Music, on the other hand, would be a deal killer. Surprisingly, I've 27 CD's and vinyl waiting on me to listen to right now. And I just opened The Blue Album. And I got the new Phish album that was surprised dropped a couple of days ago that I just downloaded today along with Fetch the Bolt cutters coming next week. AND the New RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, Unfollow The Rules, streets physically April 27th. So oddly, I'm musically rich right now. Though most of what I have is '90s albums I haven't heard or haven't heard in ages.
