Right now, it isn’t so bad for me since weather is still cool here in NY. But once the weather warms up, I’m really looking forward to going outside. But since this pandemic will most likely last through the summer, then chances are, I’ll be cooped up at home and won’t be able to enjoy the warm weather that I was anxiously awaiting for.

As much as I like staying home more now, I miss going into stores not named Target & Supermarkets. These lockdowns just can’t end soon enough. Also, good luck keeping people in doors as soon as the nice weather hits. I want things to go back to normal as soon as possible.

As soon as it's seventy degrees out most days, people WILL rebel against forced indoor isolation. No amount of begging from the government or celeb PSAs will be able to keep people inside, especially young people and kids. I paid my rent a few days ago, and the walk uptown to my landlord's office was the longest walk I've made since March 10th.

I don't know where you live, nor your particulars, but I just walk around my apartment complex late at night. I've always done it when I couldn't make it to the local park's walking trail. Now, I see other people walking late at night, too. Not a lot, but more than just myself. I do three laps (essentially three miles) around the entire complex, enough to break a sweat, but not enough to rev me up to where I can't dial down and sleep later.

If you can safely get a walk in some way, any way, go for it.

I still get out for runs, lately it's the only time I leave the house. Going to get lunch for my former brother in law and his kids tomorrow and visit at their house for a bit.

And how many people do you think that is? I have never lived through a wildfire season because we don't have that issue in this area of the country. I guarantee pretty much nobody in this area knows how to wear a mask properly, or even why you wear one.

WSJ - The Silicon Valley Face Mask Disruptors
Jake Medwell and Drew Oetting, two venture capitalists and roommates in San Francisco, have become the improbable middlemen for hundreds of millions of protective supplies across four continents. WSJ's Rob Copeland explains how their operation works.

I thought this was an interesting podcast on the Wall Street Journal about two roommates with little logistics experience who founded a nonprofit logistics operation to distribute N95 masks, PPE, and ventilators. They could have easily charged anything they wanted but decided to go nonprofit because of the situation in America.

And our Con Ed bills will go up when we're using our AC's cuz we're home inside all summer.

Over the next couple of weeks those numbers should start to taper off given more people are aware and the effect of social distancing.
So are the numbers going to start tapering off in the next couple of days????

LOFL

No. The numbers are going to get worse for the next 2-3 weeks here in the city. Then we hit the apex, which will last who knows how long...and then they slowly start to go down.

Buckle up. This is months. Not weeks.

Yeah well that quoted post was from March 23rd when people were telling me to relax and things will get better. Now you know why I was freaking out?

They should start getting law enforcement to fine them every time they leave the house, unless for legitimate essentials.

Sadly ppl don't need nice weather to rebel.. They are doing it now.
Couple days ago saw someone posted a pic on facebook of one of our home depots. It had a super long line. People get bored and go out regardless of the stay home orders.

I believe yesterday they were forced to close up. But people will just find another place to go to like Cotsco.

The line at my Home Depot was from the main entrance all the way to other end of the store by the lumber department. It's unbelievable. Go the hell home, people.

I never said that. Look back at my responses to you. I *DID* say that you need to relax...AND that things were always going to get much, much worse.

I have a good friend that's working in the ER. He's dreading this week.
And crime is going up as well.

I know, you weren't one of those people.

However, there were many other people here telling me that the spike in numbers a couple of weeks ago were due to increased testing and that things will go down in the weeks to come. We are now at April 5th and we haven't hit the apex yet. And that's the point why I was initially freaking out before. I KNEW this was coming, but everyone else was stubborn and didn't think it was going to happen. This is why people take it as a joke, don't stay at home and go out. Now we're lucky if this crisis completely ends by the end of the year.

It's amazing how I look outside my window and still see numerous people strolling outside. Oy vey!

When the weather was nice a few days ago there were people in the park exercising together, playing soccer & running laps on the track in groups. That was only one very nice day in NYC. Imagine when the weather always stays nice, no way will people stay home instead of hanging out. I do my part because I want this to be over with. I miss shopping at other store besides Target but sadly the majority will most likely not listen, especially in the summer.

It's going to be 65 here on Monday.

The only way this is going to get "better" is if the people who currently have a cavalier attitude a) know someone who is sick and/or dies from this, b) get sick themselves or c) there's a vaccine.

IMHO those are the only 3 options for them.
