Yes, it was released a few months ago, not in a repackaged 4K set but as a standalone Blu.

It is. Shots can look really great one second to looking like shite the next.

Been watching through the 19' blu and feel somewhat mixed on it. The film looks too clean to my eyes like gump was shot on mid 2000s digital cameras but I really like the grading. Some shots also have great detail but others like vietnam look too saturated and dnrd. The rain also looks like a byproduct of dnr similar to BtTF2. Overall i feel its a watchable disc and I like it more than the older release slightly because the atmos track is so good

When it comes to the 25th anniversary remaster and the Sapphire Series Blu, is one clearly better than the other? I'm not as big of a videophile as others on here but even I can notice the lack of grain on the newer disc.

IMHO the Sapphire BD looks better than the new BD because it doesn't seem to have intermittent DNR.

Is it same as the first blu-ray? Or same as the 25th anniversary blu-ray?

I watched the UHD for the first time last night. Everything was fine until Vietnam where the inconsistent DNR became distracting through the rest of the movie. Not sure of the logic...in what they were thinking (if they even were).
