Exactly, very nice to have no region coding anymore. Apart from that my priorities have always been with picture and sound quality and at some point in 2007 it was clear that the lead in that respect was going to the blue side and never coming back - how surprising with both more capacity and bandwidth

You certainly get around.

I already asked George F. (last Friday?) if he would be willing to do a chat here, esp. since this forum leads the Blu-ray way for bringing in more new enthusiasts–
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Blu-ray&aq=f&oq=

He said that he was amenable to the idea.
Maybe some time in the future we can set up a chat when everyone’s schedule is in synch and George has a boatload of new Blu-ray info that has accumulated over time that he can divulge in order to make it a worthwhile endeavor. It would be most optimal to also get other guys like Bill Baggelaar and Ned Price for the techno/restoration questions but, the logistics of doing so with everyone going to meetings at different times, etc. would indeed be a real challenge.

I just don’t know how much time/effort that would be involved for our mods to make this happen esp. since we’ve got mods on this forum that are in different time zones all over the world.

Nice to hear. My gf is a fan of this production, but I haven't managed to sell her on the BD yet. We have the DVD set and she says that's "just fine".

Already out in the UK. See review (with downrezzed screencaps) here:
http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film2/DVDRe...ce_blu-ray.htm

Doctorossi, show your wife the first couple of pictures and ask her if that yellowish DVD is 'just fine.'

Do all BBC TV productions still get released on Blu-ray in Europe converted to 24fps instead of being released at the 25fps/50i that they were originally shot at? Will this ever change in the future or will they always be slowed down?

Would the geek be up for a chat? Would love to hear from him again and he could bring along an associate from Marketing so his hands aren't so tied.
An hour or two one evening with his biggest fans?

Penton

If you could pull of a chat with any of the guys mentioned it would be great.

I think the 2 main problem's with the HTF chat's is that:

1) They take place early evening US time, which means that for us in europe, participating in a 3-5am chat is almost impossible on a work night. I totally understand why, but it doesn't make it any easier.

2) People aren't allowed to make a list of q's before hand - therefore duplicate/stupid q's get asked- if a list of say 50 titles could be created that people wanna know about beforehand then these could be addressed at the start so at least some chat time could be devoted to q's other than when/if is xyz title coming out - i'm not suprised the WB guy's wanted to end it early!

Either that or compile a list of q's that weren't able to be asked after the chat for the team to come back and reply too.

Well, while one of us plays on the internet (me), somebody has to do the meat and potatoes Blu-ray work (him) but, possibly if classics continue to sell poorly, I wouldn’t rule it out completely.

A new wave of executive ‘get the message’ out sort of stuff may be merited and a chat is certainly cheaper and less time consuming than this was to help contribute to………….
https://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=660 (what say you Kris Deering?)

But, I’ll take your request under advisement.

But, one never knows, so stay tuned.

P.S. – It wouldn’t hurt if some of you guys actually clicked on the pic above so we see how many people are serious about this and since our daily forum viewer-ship stats run around 2-3 non-members to 1 member, it also wouldn’t hurt if some lurkers out there actually became members and clicked on the photo for a true indication of the interest to his presence.

There were several reasons why there was less Bd discussion on htf the other night.During the first round of questions Warner lost their connection for ten minutes or so, also we were being discouraged from asking multiple questions in one question so i guess the recent anouncement of Warner Archives took priority for some.If i am not mistaken the last chat was 3 hours this time only 2.Having said all that i wish there were many more Bd questions from the people who did participate.
