Not a good sign

I'm hoping they get into a 2 release per month on Blu-ray cycle.

I liked Bottle Rocket but it seems short, even for an hour and 30 minute movie.

yeah that is odd I've never seen something completly taken off the site like that sometimes the dates have changed... I am hoping for the fans of RAN it is just a slight delay at most?

I'll be heartbroken if it's anything more than a minor delay for Ran

Yeah, supposedly "Benjamin Button" will be DVD release #476 from Criterion since that release has yet to be identified in the Coming Soon section on their site.

NICE!

Hopefully since it's such a mainstream movie.... it'll be more widely available used/discounted in the near future.....

Amazon is making good on my Chungking issues... and sending me a new order at no charge..... if I get the other one too... I can keep it

I'll have one for trade if I get two copies...... that was a pleasant surprise.

Guess Button takes the Ran slot. Hopefully Ran will only be pushed back a couple months.

just got my first two Criterions (Chungking Express, Third Man) today - couldn't be more excited!!!

The Digpiak packaging looks great, absolutely top-notch and a welcome change to the blue plastic cases...

Are there any Criterion movies mainstream popcorn loving moviegoers like me may enjoy besides Button and Ran?

I recommend Ran. Very good movie. So much better than Tom Cruise's Japanese movie.

Default Ran

It would be a huge disapointment if Ran is not available. Just noticed it's off the website. Hopefully Button didn't get in the way of Ran's release. lol. They've released Kurosawa box sets in the past and a blu set would be a great way to make up for Ran's delay if there is one. I'd like to see Seven Samurai, Ran, Yojimbo, Sanjuro boxed up and Drunken Angel, High and Low, Stray Dog, Red Beard in another and then finally The Hidden Fortress, Throne of Blood, well you get the idea.

From DVD there were many like Robocop, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, The Rock, This is Spinal Tap, etc...... but what ones they still have the rights to is another question.....

There will be some mainstream Criterion Blu-rays...... but they certainly won't be a "Lot" of them......
