No need to pay for marketing and "High-Speed HDMI" cables or whatever you'll undoubtably end up buying...... |

If you have Cat2 (or even Cat1) cables, they are ALL capable of passing a 1080p24 signal with lossless audio (which runs ar 1.10 Gbps). If you happen to have Monster 2.23 Gbps cables that "claim" only 1080i/720p, that total BS. Don't believe the marketing, and DO NOT go out and spend big $$ on new cables. You want to order a $5 cable from Monoprice to test, fine, go right ahead. It will do the exact same thing as the $150 Monster cable. |

are you guys sure? because on the HDMI box it only says: 720p/1080i
i'll try again and look on the BD player settings... all this is so confusing :/ but thank you all for your help ![]() PS: sorry if i caused any sort of confusion, you see, my english is not very good. XD EDIT: ok, i've changed the BD setting to 1080p. now the TV says it's running at 1080p (actually it only says 1080 without the "p"... but it should be 1080p...before it said 1080i...) i cant tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p, but it should be all right now. thank you all for your help..i was going to buy a new cable this saturday. you guys probably saved me at least 30$ XD it's a BAD thing to be a newbie in this kind of things... thank you all again ![]() Last edited by MATT90; 03-26-2009 at 08:01 AM. |

Yes, we are sure about the whole HDMI marketing crap that is designed to confuse the buyer and make them think they need to spend more $$ than need be. Read through the following post and look at the chart published by Monster. They "rate" their 2nd lowest cable as being only capable of handling 720p/1080i, yet based on the speed rating it can handle ALL 1080p24 can offer. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=366 Glad it all worked out for you! |
