British label Nucleus Films has revealed that it is preparing a Blu-ray release of Pasquale Festa Campanile's film The Libertine (1968), starring Catherine Spaak, Jean-Louis Trintignant, Gigi Proietti, Fabienne Dali, and Renzo Montagnani. The release is expected to arrive on the market early next year.

Synopsis: A sexy widow (Spaak, Il Sorpasso) accidentally discovers that her late husband had a secret apartment where he cheated on her. Now she decides to use the same apartment to explore her own sexuality with a kinky doctor (Trintignant, The Conformist). Cinematography by Alfio Contini (Il Sorpasso). Soundtrack by Armando Trovajoli (Ugly, Dirty and Bad). NEW RESTORATION.

In case folk don't know you can save the HMV.com £2 delivery charge for orders under £10 by having the item delivered to your nearest store, which frankly makes it just as easy to phone them up and if they have it in stock ask if they could put the item to one side for you. Either way you've saved £2.

EDIT: Fascinating documentary. Recommended at that price. Think I paid £12.50 (2 for £25 offer) on release and didn't regret it.

Would really love it if more Franco titles can come. A VIRGIN AMONG THE LIVING DEAD could use a nice Region B special edition. But I'll take whatever Euro titles pop up, they've all been great so far.

I know. I’ve watched it on DVD a couple of times. I want a Region B Blu.

And I’ll note, I have a Blu-Ray player that is multi region, if you muck about with the remote for half a minute. But I’m no longer buying Region A locked discs. Just Region B or all regions.

I’d be down for a few more Franco’s from Nucleus if they ever treat us to more.

Talk about at timely release given the coronavirus and cruise ships (though the ship in this film isn't a cruise ship if I recall correctly).

In Franco's films, if they want to publish more, I'll always be there. I just bought The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein and The Demons, hope they are delivered soon
