Ok, this week I am officially due for a haircut. It's absolutely ludicrous that barbershops are closed and I'm pissed.
![]() I will have to visit my mom next weekend and ask her to cut my hair. The last time she cut my hair was when I was 10 years old. Not sure I trust her, but I have no choice. P.S.- I do not know how to cut my own hair, especially when it comes to clipping the back of my head. So, cutting my hair myself is out of the question. |

Oh dear Lord, that would give me a nightmare if I did that!
![]() Don't get me wrong, some people look good that way. But for me, personally, it would probably look pretty bad. And I think one of the big reasons why is because the shape of my head is odd. ![]() |

I'm hearing some encouraging signs from Europe today. Governments & health authorities from countries like Spain, Italy, Austria & Denmark are now beginning to look at ways, in a testing phase, to introduce some easing of their Coronavirus restrictions to have some resemblance of normal life among their countries populations.
I am not sure how successful this type of work would be as their could be a risk that cases will begin to see sharp rises once again. I heard from the BBC this evening that Spain & Italy are starting to see drops in new cases which is an encouraging sign to hear given that the total amount of cases that they have in these countries so far is alarmingly high. Spain's government has said today that manufacturing & construction workers along with people working in other services can return to work but other people living there must remain at home. Spanish officials from today have also handed out 10 million masks to people returning to work using public transport. Italy will allow a narrow number of firms to return to their workplaces from tomorrow. The Governments in the UK & Ireland however are not looking to implement any big easing of restrictions as we head into the summer. The UK Foreign Secretary, Dominic Rabb, has said at the NHS daily briefing that was held in Downing Street this evening, that there are currently no plans to ease restrictions in the UK for the moment. He did not make any remarks, by way of a time limit, of when any of their current restrictions will last within the UK. There are some positive signs coming from the UK that the social distancing measures are beginning to have an effect. But Mr Rabb has said the UK must continue to stick to the restrictions because the UK is currently not experiencing the peak of transmission of the virus yet. The UK has released more figures on the current status of it's pandemic. It has recorded another 717 deaths from Coronavirus in it's media briefing today. The total number of deaths in the UK is over 11 thousand people. It has 88,621 people testing positive for Coronavirus to date. However the number of people who are being infected & dying from the virus is now beginning to level off in the country which is good news. Ireland's Health minister, Simon Harris, has said today that the Irish Government may look at some tweaking some restrictions in the country after the 5th of May. But he did say however that life in Ireland will not ultimately return to normal after that date. The tweaking of restrictions may look at things like reopening things like the retail sector in Ireland but with the very strict social & physical distancing measures being put in place which could resemble something that is happening with all of the supermarkets across Ireland. The question about the compulsory wearing of masks for all of Ireland's population is another question that will be have to be answered soon. |

It's going to be a balancing act for some time, between the economy and keeping the number of cases to a reasonable level. The world will just have to "figure it out" how to reopen the economy as much as possible. When that happens, the goal is to keep the infection rate under 1 until a vaccine is found. Going to be trail and error for a while, but three key things will be needed: antibody tests, contact tracing and widespread mask wearing (preferably N95s). No country can afford to shut down its economy for 18 months.
Personally I am hoping that they will at least allow construction projects to resume next month. I have several of my clients jobs shut down until May 3rd. It's reasonable to allow those projects to continue if the workers wear masks. And since the projection models have seen better numbers than was forecast, and that it appears we have reached a peak in new cases nationwide, I hope restrictions can be loosened up slightly next month. But just slightly of course, so that some businesses can reopen that are not "crowded" by nature and reasonable social distancing can be maintained. |

That is very very important; it's a measure that should be used everywhere in the whole world. |

I would imagine it would have to be voluntary. I guess that those that don't would have to rely more on their memory when explaining to a tracer where they've been. I have a bad memory for that sort of thing and would prefer the app as the lessor of two evils.

A decently large number of people had corona virus but have low or no antibodies for it meaning they can probably catch it again.
