You say this, even after I post a link last night that says just the opposite:

"Bottom line: There’s scientific evidence finding that (1) masks prevent flu infection and (2) surgical masks prevent infection of viruses like the coronavirus (Covid-19), as well as more sophisticated N95 masks."

I just realized that our stay at home order here in NY is not going to end until after Mother's Day. Oh man, I always take my mom out to eat every year for Mother's Day. She's going to freak out if we can't go out to eat that day. If the virus doesn't kill me, my mom will...

Normally I get my mother Red Lobster for Mother's Day but they're temporarily closed so I will have to figure something else out.

Normally I’d suggest a bouquet of roses, but I’m not this time because you don’t know if the florist has the virus or not.

Mother's Day is around the corner. You really want to risk your mom being out so soon? Don't forget there's no vaccine yet. Hang in there. There'll be other opportunities - just not yet.

So is America the only one with these protests? I don't recall hearing about any major ones in other countries that were as bad as us with cases.

The irony, they claim to want to open stuff back up, but the more of them that get sick, the longer the orders will be in place.

If your mom isn't understanding this year, she's not a very good mother.

I think I'll just get Ruby Tuesday instead, it won't be lobster but it will be good seafood.

I’m of the same sentiment as Dr. Fauci….”Too soon to tell” - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytT2yQI2QUk#t=1m24s
To expand upon that ^, I’ll add that some people, after comments by certain lay persons on the news with no medical background, were motivated and subsequently able to procure, one way or another, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine with the intention of taking it prophylactically on their own if/when they were to develop any COVID-19 symptoms for *protection*.

If any members here fit into that category, I would strongly caution against self-medicating like that because both agents can cause rare and serious adverse effects including neuropsychiatric effects, hypoglycemia, retinopathy and most notably QTc prolongation with potentially dire consequences as cited - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...a#post17508839.

At the minimum, baseline electrocardiography to evaluate for prolonged QTc is advisable prior to and following initiation of these medications because of the potential for arrhythmias especially in those also taking certain other concomitant QT-interval prolonging medications.

Other countries have shown quite a bit of unrest also they just generally have much steeper penalty’s. In China for example they just get out the blow torch and weld you inside the building...

I’d rather they just require everyone to wear masks in all stores & open things up sooner instead of dragging this out longer. I always knew the longer the lockdowns go on the less people would be willing to put up with them. The weather is going to start getting nicer in a lot of places soon also. Some Forida beaches are also starting to reopen.

That would be Jacksonville, FL with some heavy duty restrictions; no coolers, beach chairs, tents or even towels. You can walk on the beach (with social distancing) and you can swim in the ocean but you won't be able to dry off with a towel so a wet suit would be a good idea.

As the summer gets closer they aren’t going to be able to keep people inside that’s why I think things will open up by then. Or else you’ll be seeing many many more protests.

I completely understand the reasoning behind why everyone should wear a mask (even though we were being told the opposite not too long ago).

That being said, I was out recently & wore a mask for the first time. And, even though it was one of the lighter ones - it was very uncomfortable & made it harder to breathe, etc. I'll put up with this if I have to go out shopping, etc. But, if you have to be out at work & wearing this the entire time (on an 8+ hour shift, etc.) it would be very difficult. And, I can't see how it's possible to wear one when eating @ a restaurant, etc.

So, you want more people to be in danger and this thing to drag out a lot longer, just as long as some business that has been deemed unnecessary can open back up?

I mean, so the weather gets nicer, the virus is still out there spreading around.

Seems to be there are two camps. Safety for everyone no matter the demands that we are given, and then throw the old & sick under the bus so I can out to the beach and get a tan.

Am I wrong?
