Try telling that to my mother. My mom is not very understanding with things like this. Think about it... try telling your girlfriend that you will buy her flowers the day after Valentine's Day so you can save money and buy at a deep discount. Yeah, good luck with that! You'd think a girl would be understanding when it comes to trying to save money, but nope! Well my mom is like that! And she will freak out when she realizes that she ain't getting taken out for Mother's Day.

If your mother doesn't realize there's a global pandemic going on outside, then I have no words. Maybe tell her to turn on the news once and awhile?

Reminds me of that 21 year old who ran off to a beach for Spring Break and then his father barred him from entering the house after Spring break was over. I side with the father in this instance.

I can breathe but I can only use them in limited stints, granted mine are home made. I still don't think they'd be feasible in my dishwasher work. It'd take all of about 3 seconds for me to get dishwasher crap all over them and then they'd be worthless.

Sweden aren't even observing a lockdown. They're hoping blonde hair and Volvo's will see them through.

Your Mother's an adult for goodness sake. If she'd rather risk her life and yours for something relatively trivial, then she needs a ear-bashing.

Text her a picture of a bouquet of flowers and a bowl of pasta and tell her you love her.

Trying desperately to find a place to get a eye exam and new glasses.
The scratch resistant coating has failed and the lenses are completely cloudy, and I don't have a spare/backup pair.
Every place in my area is temporarily closed right now.
I can't wait months on end, I will be blind before then.
Funny that ABC stores are essential, but optometrists are not.

Have you tried ordering on-line? if you've got your current prescription you maybe able to get a temporary pair.

Prescription is few years old, need a new one.
Don't know where it is anyway.
Plus the place that sold me the glasses is temporarily closed.

Have you called her on the phone to discuss this whole thing? If not, you should. And if she won't listen to reason, stick to your guns respectfully.

That's the only advice I have.

I never liked the commercialism of mothers day. I don't need a day of the year to be told/reminded to tell my mother that I love her and take her out. I do that frequently all year, every year.

Have any of your supermarkets got an optometrist? not sure if they're operating in your area.

Funny closing them down, what happens if essential personnel need replacements? seems ... short-sighted.

Boston 25 News - CDC reviewing ‘stunning’ universal testing results from Boston homeless shelter

397 person homeless shelter, 146 tested positive, but not a single one of those who tested positive had any symptoms at all. The article didn't say if any of them had a fever of 100.4 which is the most common early symptom, but man that is crazy.

Asymptomatic can happen which is why they need to start testing everyone.

Agreed.

IMO, I think the laser temperature guns at sports stadiums might not be the savior everyone is looking for.
