Hey...I mean, it's no biggie, right? So then let the people who are concerned about it stay home and let the rest of the people go back to work and we'll see how it works out.
That works for me. The weakest and most susceptible should stay home.

It would be enormously difficult. But we all should have savings. And, if we don't, you have to figure out what else to do. Sorry, I don't buy that at all. And that's coming from someone who has dealt with anxiety/depression for my entire life. Losing your job isn't a reason to kill yourself.

It's not always about that. Not everyone that's being severely affected by this are "weak" or "most susceptible."

I wouldn't be going back to work tomorrow. Nope. I'll let this sit for at least a month after things "open back up" to see how the world falls apart (or not).

During the Depression 9.7 per 100,000 committed suicide due to financial ruin. That rate is over 9 percent higher than the current death rate due to Covid-19.

OK. And it was also almost 100 years ago...and there are for more resources/jobs now than there were then. AND we're getting financial assistance from the government. There are a ton of differences.

True, but suicides rise and fall with the economy. What I'm saying is we can't wait this out for months more. The impact will be irreversible.

I’m sure grocery store employees are tired of being sitting ducks.
Just because some people are able to order groceries online in some areas doesn't mean everyone has that option. My girlfriend's folks buy most of their groceries form a local small chain with about 5-7 stores max. I guarantee they don't have a way to order online. There's a large stop & shop nearby but I have no idea how I would even order from them as I've never done it before. And what about people that pay with cash and don't want to use their credit cards online, like many older people? What about poor people or people with bad credit history that don't currently have a credit card? Young people just starting out?

I think I may draw the line at not letting people shop for their own food. Do what they have to to force restrictions, but people need to be able to buy food. Sadly people are ignorant and as I pointed out previously the people I saw in Wal-Mart don't practice safe distancing, and don't wear their masks correctly.

But the workers aren't practicing it either. I couldn't find a price for an item. I asked from a distance where their nearest self-price-checker was, so I could check it myself. instead the employee walked up to me and said "I can scan it here with my scanner - here, let me have the item".

So much for employees practicing safe distancing.

OK. Great. And, again, I circle back to my initial statement: you first. Your friends and your family. I'll be watching.

And what about apartment numbers? In my tax form there was a special place for apt. # in it's own box. I had it prepared online and that box had the apartment number filled in. But on the "get my payment" site there is no apartment number box, so how do I enter it?

blah blah blah street, apt 123
blah blah blah st, apt 123
blah blah blah street, apartment 123
blah blah blah street apt 123

There's many different ways to list that and one character may throw it off apparently. It's a very poorly-designed web page.

What if we, like, took the ~500 billionaires in the US and let them die and redistribute their wealth to start up the economy?

Sorry I don't know maybe that's too morbid. Let's let a hundred thousand or more poor people die for the economy instead.

Or we could start another world war to put people to work, as that seemed to put an end to that first Great Depression. WWII probably fixed the suicide rate right up. Right? Are any of these good ideas? Please credit me if y'all go with any of them...

Yeah because only old people are dying from this right? What about the depression from losing people to this virus and not being able to even have a proper funeral?

Job loss and spousal abuse is nothing to scoff at but let’s handle the major problem at hand that’s killing hundreds a day. You live in NY too according to your location, you should know we have it worse than most.

I doubt the lockdowns will last for a few more months, the people will start not standing for it like they’re starting to do now. Any elected official who also keeps it going for too long will most likely not be re-elected when the times comes I think. Most people want (& need) to be able to work & they should have that right. I’m not saying don’t keep people safe but at the same time the U.S. isn’t North Korea.

We were talking about letting the younger more antsy people out while the people who are concerned stay home. Basically it was a hypothetical scenario.

SS is numbers only. I don’t know about apartment numbers and how that works. I do know to enter the street address exactly the way it is on your tax forms (if your form says Ave, don’t put Avenue, if your form says St, don’t put Street, etc) and don’t use periods (like Ave. or St.) unless it’s listed that way on your tax forms.

And I agree the site is poorly designed.

Smile Above & Beyond - Great Falls

For those who are really stressed, this music's frequency is supposed to help calm the mind. Here are a couple of comments:

Debbie Stromer 2 days ago:

Normally their music is more EDM and progressive trance, but they are so talented and have created music in different genres which is so perfect depending on your mood. Out of all of the most famous DJ's with a massive world following, A&B are the highest vibe. People fly in from all over the world to see them live and it really is an experience that has to be felt. Their music has always been so healing, spiritual and uplifting.

Death rate != Not having symptoms. The fact is, we don't know how many people have had it without knowing it at all, and we won't unless mass antibody tests are don, but tens of thousands of young people have had it, and have experienced symptoms of some kind from a cough, and fever, to loss of smell/taste, etc...
